The set should come with more trooper, less battlegoys nobody wants. Clone squads are comprised of eight men, with one commander per. Needs more variety. I like the vehicle size though.

Doubtful. Too expensive for many parents right now and not enough play features for rich kids to jump on board. Collectors will buy a few, but many will do so just to resell in a war or so. And unlike similar Ninjago sets, it has only a small fan base that remembers its impact.

All Lego sets are designed by some professional somewhere with unlimited pieces i would say the only difference with this, is that it was made by someone outside of the Lego company who has more of a passion and attention to detail, which I highly like. It makes for a more aesthetic set which i can display.

Thanks. I suppose it is possible we get a death troopers battlepack some day since they have appeared in multiple installments, but shoretoopers will never see the light of day again. Shame since there were three variants. And they didn’t have stud shooters.

Bought Kai's mech jet to have a go at modifying it into being more substantial. It's a bit messy but I'm pretty happy with the end result.

I took apart a pic related for a lot of the parts but I didn't exclusively stick to the two sets. I'll probaly take some more pictures once I've worked out a stand for him. He's super top/back heavy so he can't hold much more than that pose right now and I'd like to have him displayed in flight.

People here need an education.
Lego Star Wars gave Lego a major boost, but the costs of licensing made the overall profit margin incredibly slim, hardly enough to keep them going. Not to mention, people only bought enough to make it worthwhile during years that a movie came out.
Bionicle sold gangbusters in the first few years of its life, enough to keep Lego afloat while they shat out garbage like Galidor, Jack Stone, and other stuff until they restructured in the mid-2000s.

The 501st, aka the 'blue stormtroopers' hold a special place in the heart of a star wars fan because they were the best of the best as far as clones do. Vader led them to kill all the jedi in the jedi temple, so they were pretty important in the storyline. Also, they were very prominent in the clone wars I think. (I haven't seen the clone wars animated series) Additionally, they were a rather rare figure before, and those people who like having leigions of troopers on grey baseplates really like having 'rare' trooper armies.

They had blue shoulder pauldrons which the older fig represented better by using blue arms, since lego doesn't really do arm printing. Having it plain white is bland. The crest that goes down the center of their torso in the new version is also too fat.
The older fig did a better job depicting the SW blueman group if only it wasn't done in the shitty cartoon style, which new version does have going for it.

It also doesn't change the fact that paying $30 for some greebling parts and the hideous walker adds no value when the people would have been just fine with the 4 figures in a smaller $15 set.

I like the ideas behind the designs, and like you said the angles, but the builds are a little lacking.

That's seven cent a piece which is freaking great and the 20$ set is even better at 6ct/p.
The only more insane one I can think of in recent times would be that deep sea creatures Creator set that had something like 5ct/p.
The only outlier is the very first set due to being one of those 4+ sets.

What's with the controversy over the Barracuda Bay set? When I first saw it, I was blown away that they basically made a modern and better version of the Black Seas Barracuda on top of it being able to convert into a bay. Not everybody. I like how the rooms were connected in the original design and the complexity of the premises, but the ship parts weren't really incorporated in a meaningful way and everything just looked like a gigantic brown lump. There was no way that thing could have been commercialized given the ridiculous ammount of pieces, either.

I like the final set way better.

Honestly, when I had to sort my collection, I was lucky enough to have a bunch of large containers that were empty, and I just sorted by color. Also had a box for minifigs and another for minifig tools/items and it really seemed to work great. It only got more organized from there.

To be fair, it isn't a battlepack. Kinda funny as it seems almost passive aggressive that they included 4 clones and made it $30.
Also, is it just me, or do they look like customs? They don't look anything like normal Lego clones, and I think it's mostly cause of the lack of the black thong and the grey on the helmet.

Why do people like you exist? Let me guess: you have zero intention of making a moc or diorama with them, and just want to display them on a baseplate thus defeating the purpose of having more than one of the same fig.
This is the entirety of my imperial army. I actually don't want another normal stormtrooper as I have too many as is, and I can't build a large moc at the moment due to lack of space.
I just don't understand the appeal unless you're recreating a scene from the show and feel you need 50 of the same troop scattered around the moc.

Nexo was cool, but it was a tad too cartoonish for my liking and those fire goblin things perfectly show it.

And honestly looking back added, there were only 2 sets I genuinely really liked, and that was the initial giant rolling castle and the transforming horse bike.

the globlins were just printed projectiles for disk launchers and catapults. the actual minifig baddies were pretty grown up by lego standards. the fire ones in particular were very demonic.

I tried to watch the show and that was incredibly cartoony (obviously) but I did notice there was zero issue with them attacking those globlins with weapons. I've never watched ninjago, but I don't think the knights ever really attacked a minifig.

The king's mech was universally praised in /lg/ or as close to universally as I've seen, and I thought macy's battle suit combining with the bot drop dragon was one of the better gimmics they've done compared to spinners etc.

Separate by type, NOT by color. It seems counter-intuitive now, but later on, it will be easier for you to find the color you want in a bin of that piece, than to find the piece you want in a bin of that color.

Soak it in dish soap and hot water. A fingernail brush or a stiff toothbrush is great for cleaning out the areas between studs.

Few threads ago one anon challenged us to make smallest possible working steering and suspension. How about this? I managed to scale my previosu version down. Sadly I have no access to my bricks now but this will work and I'm 99% sure. Old red suspension bricks, few technic parts and here you go. Working steering and suspension in something that may end up as a minifig scale jeep. To steer you have to move this gear piece on top.

You should do what anyone are saying, but you should also seperate by color palette too. Not just a single color, but a group of colors that you see yourself working with for your specific themes. Like I've separated by blue/red/black, yellow/darkgrey, brown/darktan, etc. And THEN seperate by part type or part use. Today I got "We will be calling you shortly from a private number", I've been avoiding doing anything since then in case they call. I've never been on cenno before so the whole process is unfamiliar to me, if your experience is anything to go by I guess their definition of "shortly" is a lot different to what I was expecting. I think a lot of why older sets were so "comfy" was because they were toys and those making them were alright with that. They didn't try to make them into replicas, instead, they were the world in LEGO form.

But why? Every fantasy franchise uses Warhammer looking orcs. Heck, Warcraft orcs even copied the heavy metal building, siege engines etc. and I never heard of them winning any lawsuit. And they would surely lose against big monster company like Lego.
Everyone talks about copyright being the main reason Nexo didn't release green orcs, but I don't think that was the real issue, because why wouldn't they release the sea monsters or mushroom people? Those were original ( I think).
