I’ve been doing it but only from Japan and with dhl, for some reason Mandarake will sometimes charge hardly anything for DHL but then will charge twice as much for the same sized figure another time, I’m not sure how to tell when they’re going to do that though

Majin Vegeta isn't very good. You'll probably need Blue Goku and Vegeta. Fat Buu if you can get him. You can get the current Jiren or wait for shirtless Jiren. Base Frieza and FP Broly. King Piccolo is excellent but that depends if you like the character or not.

Yeah this Goku is pretty ugly but I think the Vegeta still looks pretty good. And I like the Golden Freeza more than I thought I would. I don't even like the transformation very much but it's a nice figure. Doesn't feel as cheap as the 4th form Freeza I got.

I may be retarded, but the more time passes, the more Zamasu feels like a canned convention exclusive that didn't end up happening because of Covid.
His body is essentially a repaint, he has no real accessories and the only thing that makes him unique is that he has different heads from his Merged variant and a different belt.
Like most convention exclusives, he's also only available in and around the US.

I don't think anybody though that for SSB Vegito. We all knew he was going to be a JP P Bandai too.

I guess it is possible they might have done that with Zamasu, but we saw him shown off a couple months ago at a show. That was obviously before shows were cancelled and before the pandemic had blown up to what it is right now. And they don't show event exclusives off like that ahead of time.

There have been other basic-bitch releases like SSG Goku, but everyone forgets about him.

Apparently it's an issue with most people's Jirens not having the upper arm peg not inserted properly into the deltoid, which causes breakage and also in many cases difficulty articulating (very strained movement)
So I think the advise is to soap it up, then make sure you insert it properly before using it.

Idk, from a technical standpoint I like Majin Vegeta a lot. It's my favorite look for Vegeta, his ball-jointed hips allow for much better movement and his centered ankle joints grant him better stability than the awkward offset ones the 2.0/Broly one uses; his paint apps are just lackluster.

He's definitely a figure I would recommend you only get on sale, but we're probably past that point I'd at least say don't pay more than msrp for him if you're dead set on getting him.

You’ll have to find an insane bargain to get him for his retail used let alone new. ($56 i believe?) meaning you come across a listing within the first hour of it going up. I got a new one like a month ago for $80 including shipping/tax and I consider it a win. It’s the weakest Vegeta 2.0 figure and also most expensive. I only got it because it’s my favorite variant of probably any dragonball character and when I started collecting earlier this year I was on insistent on getting that and Warrior awakening Goku no matter what. It’s overpriced but if your deadest on having a Majin Vegeta there’s no alternative except for hoping they come out with a better version that may or may never come for at least a year or two down the road

I feel like Piccolo gets way bigger as the series goes on so that leaves me pessimistic about his scaling. probably have him the same size as Adult Goku like he is in dragonball which would suck. Whereas by the end of Z I feel like he’s closer to Buu than a Saiyan.

No neutral on the figure rise. If you need just one cell, get the stars. If you can't decide between them, get both! One can be your buff cell.

Stars just has a set of open hands, and the crotch and back of thigh can be easily modded to have articulation matching the shf. Figure rise has pretty good range of motion and an undersized effect part. Great color separation tho.

As someone who kept both and sold the shf, no regrets here.

Get the Dragon Stars. It's got the right proportions and is in perfect scale with SHF.

Figure rise is a tad too bulky although it still fits if you wanted a roid rage Cell for the display.

Speaking of bases, I recently got some of the newer tamashii ones, that come with the 'diaper clip'.
However, unlike the normal grip, it has circles going inwards.
These can't damage SHFs during a heatwave or something, right?
I had rubber grips from figma dig into waists before, and since then I just prefer figs to have a hole in their back and became paranoid about grip stands.
Since these are plastic they shouldn't, right? Even in flying poses?

I had to return a figure because it had a huge random white dot on a dark layer. Also one of my sealed SSGGR figures has a weird mark/scratch on his leg. My SSGGB has dark blue hair and the orange of his outfit is slightly darker than normal, but i kinda like it desu.

Goku Blue had half the emblem on his back missing.
Got him replaced since it was local, though still annoyed with Kid Goku having an extra dot on his eye and Broly having a deep scratch. Could prolly turn the latter into an extra scar though if I ever feel creative.

Making it light hearted isn’t the same when these guys can obliterate universes by farting the wrong way. When Goku is a naive 10 year old clueless about social cues it’s funny. When he’s doing it as a 40 year old(while at the same time ignoring all the development he went through in Z) manchild it’s cringe. They basically just put DB goku but made him an adult. And don’t get me started on Vegeta as a comicrelief character. Theres Never any real threat either and you can pretty much predict the entire thing. Deaths mean shit, I think piccolo „died“ at one point then he’s chilling with the gang in the next scene with no mention of him getting wished back. Lol

It’s worth a watch but there’s a reason no one has it on par with DB and DBZ.

Power levels dictated fights in Z, there was nothing else to it. DB was about skills and tactics.

There were still skills and tactics, even in DBZ, but after the Frieza fight, that kind of went out the window. Frieza couldn't even sense Ki for as powerful as he was, and that's why suppressing Ki worked so well for Krillin, Gohan, etc and they could move around the planet undetected, and Vegeta threw off a lot of Frieza's henchmen by making them think he was still weak.

Goku even uses the fact that Frieza can't sense his power level a couple times, like that time he gets thrown in the water, and hangs two ki spheres under Frieza. Frieza attacks that spot thinking Goku's there, and Goku sneaks an attack from behind.

Power levels aren't the reason Super was shit writing wise. It was shit because there was no agency in the plot lines. It was down right comical how many times they time traveled in the Zamasu arc.

Super runs into the issue of continuing past Z when everything had reached critical mass by then. Gotenks and Super Buu were breaking reality. Everyone of importance had been killed. The earth had been destroyed. The Spirit Bomb had finally worked. Hercule had helped save the world. Vegeta had completed his character arc. Gohan finally reached his potential. How do you go beyond this? What is there left to explore?

Especially with fusions being introduced. Fusions as a concept only somewhat work in the Buu Saga because it's over and you don't have to deal with the implications of them. YWhen you start up again, you run into the issue of "why don't they just fuse?" with every fight. This is somewhat answered by Goku and Vegeta not wanting to permanently fused. It works as Goku and Vegeta can't do the fusions dance in canon (Vegeta is too short). Then the retardation of Super both made Vegito temporary and canonized Gogeta so there is no answer to that question.

Beerus and Whis being so absurdly powerful lurking in the background too ruins stories.

This is pretty much exactly why DBS falls so flat. Not just that, but the pantheon of other GoDs, Angels, and even Zeno and GP just means that any threat is meaningless since they've set it up that Beerus or Zeno can just come in, wave their hand, and have the threat disappear.

I honestly never liked the ending of DBZ, though, with Goku going off to train Uub. It just made it seem like there was nothing left out there. Goku just goes off to train some random kid, instead of all the other fighters we've known throughout the series.

As many problems as Beerus and Whis create, I thought BoG was a better cap to the series, especially if it just ended there. The revelation that there are literal Gods out there, and that a multiverse filled with other universes exists, and that those universes are filled with strong fighters is a more fitting end. It feels like the adventures can continue forever, and we can only imagine the worlds they can explore, and the threats they may come across. That should have been the end. The idea that for everything they've done, they journey can forever continue.

Actually seeing that stuff though has just been a letdown. Since basically everything is just leaning on DBZ as a crutch, instead of anything new. I still think Zamasu is the only interesting thing about Super, and that arc just continually eroded as it went on.

This has a lot to do with how safe Shuiesha and Toei want to be with the DB IP. They want these characters to exist so that they never have to deviate too far from what is expected of DB. The most obvious sign of this is how everyone involved allowed Whis, and by proxy the rest of the angels, control time so that ResF could end with a reset to status quo. Compare what's happening in the manga right now and what Toei is doing in the meantime until Shueisha allows them to continue the anime. The Moro arc is just a mashup of the Piccolo Daiomao and Frieza arcs and you can easily guess what's coming next chapter. In the SDBH anime that Toei is doing, they have free reign to use anything and the characters they choose to focus on are Goku and Vegeta and...Goku and Vegeta. No one is willing to do anything interesting. DB is as corporate an IP as anything from say, Disney. It's made to cast the widest net on the lowest common denominator. Unfortunately, the one at fault the most is Toriyama. Toyotaro doesn't have enough say to do anything, but if Tori would put his full effort into the manga there could be some interesting storylines regarding the divine characters and different universes that they introduced then discarded. I have no faith in Toei, the Super anime is terrible but does exactly what they want it to do.

Saiyan Saga: Fav is Goku/Piccolo vs Raditz, least fav is that point where the vegeta fights feels too dragged out, somewhere around where vegeta’s tail gets cut

Frieza Saga: Fav is stealth mode gohan and krillin on namek, worst is ginyu in goku’s body

Cell Saga: Fav is the comfy family time before cell games, least fav is discovery of cell and then his 1st form antics

I wish people would stop saying that. The series has already made it clear that the various deities all have their own circumstances to deal with, so outside of a ridiculously dire situation that won't happen.

Despite it being a time of peace, there was still a giant mystery box of threats bound to pop up around the corner, and Goku's arc coming full-circle by training his own disciple. Who gives a shit? They can write themselves into a corner, and they've done it before, and just have someone swoop in to save everyone.

Whis rewinded time after Frieza destroyed Earth.
Beerus erases Zamasu so they don't have another one to deal with fucking around in time.
Zeno erases Universe-man Zamasu.

It doesn't really matter that they say they have other stuff to do, when they can just write a God in to take care of the bad guy. The whole reason they don't do it all the time is that they like to pretend the GoDs and Angels are wild cards. "Look, LOL, Beerus is a lazy kitty sitting in a lawn chair eating a sundae! How SILLY! And yet no bother of sticking around to train with the other Saiyans. EoZ had really nothing left. Just Goku going to train some kid, in case some day something might happen. BoG leaves a gigantic hole where we can't even imagine what else might be out there.

Saiyan Saga: definitely agree with yours. Least favorite part was probably just everyone waiting for Goku to show up. Malpas is cool though.

Frieza Saga: Favorite is definitely the beginning where Vegeta is doing his own thing. The three sides interacting with each other is one of the more nuanced stories in dragon ball z. Least favorite is Ginyu in goku’s body, but I wish Frieza’s final form had been saved to fight Goku instead of just transforming from stage three for shits and giggles to beat up Vegeta.

Cell Saga: Favorite is the androids, and piccolo fighting imperfect cell, then android 17. It’s another instance of three conflicting interests, which I feel is interesting.
Least favorite is probably when Vegeta and trunks come back and are powered up with soon-to-be-irrelevant super Saiyan forms. Their fight with semi perfect cell is kinda lame, since they just wreck him until Vegeta decides to let Cell power up. Feels too driven by plot.

Buu Saga: favorite is Majin Vegeta, and Super Buu when he first shows up. Once Gotenks makes an appearance, I lose interest.

Well yeah, that's correct. I don't have the skills to turn this into a perfect 2.0 Trunks, and I don't feel like potentially destroying this figure. I think it'll serve as a decent placeholder until we get a real 2.0 though.

I think he looks cool with the cape. It makes him look heroic. He's the hero who saved the future from Zamasu after all!

love em or hate em, it was nice to have some extra releases between the official ones just to pass the time. Going back to the 1-2 month waits between figuarts is a drag. Especially at the moment when we're all bored out of our minds!
