I already had quite a few figures, like Bionicle and Transformers and bought lots of toys locally, but I feel like things really started when I bought Figuarts Luffy after getting back into One Piece. Just started ordering way too many things with money that wasn't mine (with permission, of course). I feel like I've calmed down a bit but I definitely own too much at this point.

Disney Infinity oddly enough.

I bought most of them, and then the line died and I needed something else to collect, so I got the Samus Figma, SHF Bruce Lee and Mezco Captain America to try some different lines and it snowballed from there.

I still have the DI toys but I let my nephews play with them so they aren't all in the best of shape.

It's her. My school friend gifted it me for a birthday, which was really cool consdering i was beyond poor and had almost to no knowledge how to order via amiami/mandarake.

S.H. Figuarts Dark Kabuto, back in 2010. I was looking for something to cope with my father's death, and I thought he looked cool. Ended up getting pretty big into Riders at the time. The newer ones are leagues better than the stuff from a decade ago.

I never stopped buying or collecting toys so it's hard to name a singular figure, I primarily collected GI Joe and Star Wars: POTF. But when this board came along, it opened me up to import figures. Even that was over a decade ago and I don't remember the first one I got but it was a revoltech of some kind.

Marvel Select Deadpool. I saw it at a convention I was at one time and thought he was cool. I was really into Deadpool stuff at the time and had only gotten a decent enough job to afford collecting stuff like comics and toys just a few years prior. I had been collecting comics for a few years at that point and I figured I'd spice up my shelf with a figure. That ended up turning into a bunch of figures, then I graduated to MLs, then to imports, then on and on.

OG Figma Black Rock Shooter. Went to a convention and saw her, decided I wanted her and nabbed her, fell in love with her almost the moment I took her out the box. She was the first "collector" toy I'd ever bought. Need to give her a good dust and display her again, she's taken a few knocks due to me not really understanding that she wasn't just a "regular" toy that happened to be really really good at the time, but she's perfectly displayable.

I'd had a couple of cheap 5poa figures laying around for a while but I didn't start actually collecting figures until I got a hold of this guy. Picked it for around $25 back in 2013 because I loved Kamen Rider, and now I've spent an uncomfortably large amount on toku related toys.

These two where my gateway into collecting foreign import action figures from not only SHF, but Figma, Revoltech, Bring Arts, Polynians, SAS, S.H.MonsterArts, Mafex, and Storm Collectibles so far.

Ironically they're not really my favorites anymore. But I still wish I kept their boxes for the sake of accessory storage.

My first figure was the DC Icons Batman. I was looking for stuff to put on my new desk and am a huge Batman fan. My nephew gave me a little batman minifig so I tried looking for other batman figures and found the DC Icons line right as it was coming out. I was drawn in because it didn't look like a cheap kids toy, but an actual collectible. Then I started getting into Marvel Legends, then eventually more expensive figures.

i used to collect vidya and comics, then i got bored with those and started focusing on buying toys after seeing Toy Story 2. i think i was 15 when i started buying pic related, then pokemania happened and spent all my birthday, christmas and allowance money on whatever i could.

I used to collect a few Spider-Man Classics and MLs back in the Toybiz days but a few years back these two got me back into it big time. Which is funny because only one of these figures is actually good, that X-Force Deadpool looks good but his joints were loose, gummy shit and his shoulder articulation more limited from the previous Juggernaut wave release. Also his boot cuts are awful and never lined up correctly. He didn't move or pose very well at all and I think Bucky Cap mold degradation had something to do with it. The red Deadpool was the first Hasbro ML I picked up that actually felt really good. He moves really smoothly and before I knew it I had picked up Cable, and eventually the rest of the X-Men.
I have a habit now of collecting toys and lines then selling them all off when I get bored of them or just need the space, but I'm gonna hang onto my X-Men guys just because they're really what got me back into toys.

Well kinda anyways. Samus was going to be a one off but a then acquaintance into marvel legends got me to get into the amazing spider-man 2 wave.
So ASM 2 Legends Spidey, Figma OM Samus, and shortly there after Sakurajima Ichigo's SHF got me into this cesspit of a hobby, board, and one of my biggest obsessions ever in the form of kamen rider.

While i dont collect that much 1/6, I remember seeing this 1/6 Medicom Big Boss figure at my LGS since i was a kid. I eventually bought it from my LGS about 6 years afterwards. My first 1/12 figure was figma Golgo 13 a couple months later.

Layton is fine. His range of motion is just decent for a Revoltech, but it's quite good considering his design really isn't made for action. There's nothing super mindblowing about him but nothing wrong either. Would recommend if you like Layton.

ML Cap and Iron Man from Civil War got me back into figures. Before that I was only collecting the BtAS figs from DC Collectibles and some random funko (I know, fuck off). I got the funko Marvel box diorama thing of Cap and Iron Man and thought it’d be fun to find some inexpensive figures of them to pose more. Got those and they were neat. Went into TRU about a week later and grabbed Wolverine and Rogue from the Juggernaut wave and Venom from whatever wave that was and just spiraled from there.
