I hated it on my first viewing, but the novelization and from what I remember of the original script show that the First Doctor caught on to who Twelve was pretty quickly, and was playing up the stereotypes to embarass his older self. The episode itself just does a bad job of conveying it, or they cut it completely for some reason, and Bradley's later appearances as the First with Big Finish portrayed him way closer to Hartnell.
But more on topic I would love to have a 1/12 scale Capaldi from someone other than Character Options. Especially his series 8 look. Literally none of their attempts got his look right.
