Disney owns the KH characters. That's the only reason anyone else can make them. Square-Enix doesn't want other companies to make their shit because they want all the profits.

actually if you work out the ratios, the toy has an elongated nose and chin. kind of like they got it out of the mold too fast and it stretched every so slightly but enough to be noticeable.

Play Arts isn't a company, it's a product line Square-Enix uses for the figures they make. They own Final Fantasy (and Dragon Quest, and other big IPs), so if they make their own merchandise, they can charge whatever they want for it and people will just have to suck it up if they want merchandise of Square-Enix IPs. That's a lot more profitable than licensing their IP out to other companies. Kingdom Hearts is an exception because the property is owned by Disney rather than Square.

Cutscenes were done by a 3rd party in Malaysia. Also they probably used a very early 3d model.

They changed everything later, but didn't bother to re-render all the scenes.
