40th Anniversary Vintage Cardback 6" Black Series (wave 1 and 2) is hitting Targets and Wal-Marts. Wal-Marts Retro vintage Kenner figures are out as well, though you'll be lucky to find anyone that isn't Lando.

Vintage 3" "Repaint wave" is out at some Targets as well, good luck finding anything there.

Thoughts on the hyper real line? I appreciate what they were going for, but they seem so out of place compared to everything else on the market. When that new hot toys boba was solicited I thought he'd be a new hyper real release. That being said, I wouldn't mind getting a hyper real Jango or TCW armored obi wan.

Nope, impossible with these two. They're Kenner colors, easy to tell what's going on. Zuckuss is a lighter tan, 4-LOM is a gunmetal black with blue eyes. They are no longer movie accurate.

How old are you guys? Jesus Christ. Yes, the original Kenner figures had swapped names, before it was decided the names should belong to the other. Hell Hasbro did this exact same kind of set as an SDCC exclusive for the 3" figures.

Not him, but I'd like to see new figures for characters that need updates more than anything. Some of TVC holds up great and would benefit from just being repacked, but a lot of the line consisted of repacks and mediocrity even in its heyday. Figures they half-assed back then are even more shameful now. The attached Obi-Wan goes back all the way to 2005 and was whored out multiple times even before its TVC release, for example.

There are tentpole characters that need updates, and given the paltry state of the line I'd rather see their updates prioritized over a relative curio like TCW Maul. But, frankly, TVC is just a gesture from Hasbro at this point and whatever good 3.75" figures we've gotten from them over the last few years were largely just a result of synergy with TBS. They clearly don't give a fuck about it, and the era of 3.75" abundance is long over. It ain't 2010 anymore.

Very big Mando and TCW themed year for 2021, with PT sprinkled in between. If everything pans out, we might see another black series vehicle the size of the snowspeeder sooner than later. I've heard X-Wing, but I'm not sure which design. I've also seen prototypes of anakin and obi-wan's ROTS jedi starfighters, which look cool- but they're quite old and I doubt they're coming out anytime soon if ever at this point.

I don't see why there's so much hate for the six inch stuff. They're almost all leaps and bounds above the old days. Some of them are terrible in the face department but even that's a consequence of crappy paint jobs.

One of my favorites is still ANH Han from the second wave. Not a super likeness of Ford like the ESB but you still know who it's supposed to be. If only lines like DC Multiverse or Hasbro's Indy line from KotCS were so lucky.

I know it's a pipedream at this point but I really want repacks or remakes of Genndywars stuff. More AOTC and ROTS clones in general would be nice since almost all of them that we have gotten recently are either trash (41st Elite Corps) or from the TCW show. I would love to see things like new 212th (including airborne), 501st, 41st Scouts, etc. with new articulation and properly sized (preferably not removable) helmets. Besides that, I don't like the Mandalorian because it's a bad show, but I think that more characters from the show like IG-11, the Ugnaught nigga, Beskar Mando with Yeed accessory, maybe even a repack of the Death Trooper and a new Moff Gideon in a two or three pack with some other figs, would all sell extremely well.

I don't own the figure, but it's not bad as far as effect parts go at least. I do wish Black Series were more willing to give alternate hands in general, though. For some figures it's not a big deal, but for example in Vader's case for example his more gestural left hand limits what you can do with it.

Just got the Cave of Evil 3-pack. Yoda sculpt is nice but I'm pretty sure that he's out of scale and the lack of proper joints at the elbows I was not expecting and am extremely disappointed by. The Luke actually looks a lot better in person than it did on camera at least so I'm pretty happy with him, shitty face sculpt though that looks nothing like Hamill. The Vader is decent as a standard ESB Vader but the Luke face under the helmet looks awful. At first I was mad about essentially buying a second ESB Vader but I actually like that I have two now so I can pose one dueling with ROTJ Luke and one with ESB Luke.

I think that it's still pretty good looking for how old it is. I now have the 3-pack and the original ESB release and I like how the helmet is much more glossy on the 3-pack version, it looks much more accurate than the completely matte one on the first ESB Vader. The neck is weirdly long on it though and the ESB Vader has a more proportional neck. I think that if they kept the body, legs (I usually hate swivel legs but I don't mind them on Vader), head, and cape all the same and redesigned some better arms and hands and removed the stupid silver chain we would have the perfect ESB/ROTJ Vader. The shoulder armor looks pretty bad with the joint exposed in the middle of it and his hands can barely grip his lightsaber. I think that he could also benefit from coming with some alternate hands in the force choke position.

It's clear they just wanted you to double dip. They had JUST RE-RELEASED YODA IN ARCHIVES, so what was the fucking point in re-releasing the same exact figure in 40th when there was already a new one in the works? It's also implied in another question that the two-pack Yoda will eventually see a single carded re-release as well in the regular Black Series line, along with any other newly sculpted figures in the 40th line. They clearly didn't want to say that they deliberately tricked people into buying Yoda multiple times. Shit like this was why I sold off my entire Black Series collection on three different occasions, because Hasbro was just going to end up re-releasing shit and making slight improvements to trick me into buying multiples.

I think TBS just has a more robust following from casuals and serious collectors, and I think the effort and money they're putting into TBS is cannibalizing what TVC could've gotten. Six inch figures have been a staple for a long time, but there was a period when Hasbro in particular relied heavily on 3.75" lines. G.I. I doubt their market research got it that wrong.

Yea it's got great articulation, he can pretty much aim down his rifle sight and keep the butt of the gun in his shoulder. Are they releasing a beskar version? I prefer the original armour honestly but I'd definitely pick it up

Reservations of the TVC Mando popped up on Amazon yesterday but they were gone within about 2 hours. I managed to get one ordered, it's claiming that they will be back in stock towards the end of the month and that it will be shipped by the 25th, hopefully it won't get cancelled. It's probably a good idea to keep checking there since they seem to be restocking lots of their figures on Amazon, I remember last week they restocked the clone and shadowtrooper.

They each have their merits. SHF has way more accessories and will generally be a much more stable/fun figure to pose. Mafex, on the other hand, looks like it has a better proportions and comes with baby Yeed.

I'd lean towards Mafex, except they're also infamous for their constant delays and spotty QC which can come back and bite you in the ass, so I dunno... Get both.

I actually prefer hip articulation on the Saga figs. The hip articulation on Vintage Collection is pants-on-head retarded. If they had the same hip articulation as a Black Series figure it’d be perfect, but they have those pegs that go up into the torso that makes the default range of motion doing the splits. No other figure line I know of does this because it’s awkward difficult to handle with characters with leg plating. Basic swivels are better than those if you want a figure in the seated position.

Got Yeedle from hasbro pulse today, hes cute but so fucking small. his head is on a balljoint at the neck, arms has a balljoint at the shoulder, and feet have a balljoint at the ankles. His arms are so limited they might as well be a swivel though. he can't really hold any of his accessories, nor can he bring his arms remotely close enough together to hold the bowl. For me personally, it feels like BS quality has gone down the shitter quite a bit. One thing I've always liked about them is that their quality in the past has been excellent when compared to say, Marvel Legends. But as of late, I've been finding mold marks, joint issues, etc. on recent figures. I hope the QC does jump back up a little. Watching Dave Filoni talk about why he loves the lightsaber duel in Phantom Menace so much on the new Disney Mandalorian puff piece show. Garbage show with no meaningful insight into the making of the show, but Filoni gets it. I wouldn’t have him direct cause his episodes of Mandalorian were the worst ones, but he should definitely be the head creative guy for whatever movies they want to do in the future. I don’t think he can realistically replace Kathleen Kennedy cause producing cartoons and tv for a bit doesn’t necessarily translate to running a corporation, but he should definitely be at least be a creative consultant on whatever movies they plan on doing next.

Filoni has his own bad habits (let Ahsoka go already dude), but even then he's miles beyond anyone else at the company as far as understanding the Star Wars universe and how to tell a story within it. Some kind of executive creative director role would work, where he's in charge of guiding the universe but leaves the actual business decisions to someone else. Maybe have someone alongside him who can at least talk him out of some of his usual habits, though, because unchecked he goes a little nuts with them.

Hell, he should've had that position for the ST, let someone else write and direct the movies but keep him as the glue that binds them together and makes sure the different visions stay cohesive with one another and mesh well with the universe Lucas created. The fact that there was literally nobody to do that for the ST is probably the biggest reason why it failed.
