1. Lack of opportunity, only see quarter machines at grocery stores anymore
2. The ones that are figure related are using the same formulas from before (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) with various cheap novelty toys
3. The rubber figures that are there are very simply made (the ones I've seen are simplified animals, like a small whale orb, etc.)
4. Or the rubber figures are the same figures from when we were kids (I still see rubber alien figures at one of the grocery stores)
