Really cool to see Aerodactyl. I wish the gimmick of the figures was simply that they were articulated though. Which I suppose I like those like Aerodactyl or Sharpedo, which basically would be the way they are even if it was an articulated line.

And yeah meganium is not quite the desirable size but im sure it's pretty much the best meganium we would ever get, I was hoping for a wct one but their launches are so slow Im sure they would likely end up skipping johto 3rd stage starters, they are not even popular enough

He looks good and the size it's quite great, but at least mine has a lot of quality issues that are pretty common on this line. The eyes are not 100% correctly stamped on the sculpt, something that is present in most of these figures, my other starters are the same. But it also has two major issues that really pisses me off: first is the back spike, it fits too damn loosely on its place so when you move the figure it just come off without much effort, head and tail spine are fine though (this issue of loose parts is also present in a lot of typhlosions figures by the way, also meganium it's a little loose on the head) Second is the fact that the white painting on the eyes it's too damn thin, so much that you can slightly perceive the blue color from behind, that shit makes the figure gaze to look quite 'dead' and cheap. That's something you normally see on wct figures, but those cost $9 and feraligatr it's fucking $30
It at least has not awful seam lines like kanto wave, but overall I still think they are very overpriced and the quality control on them it's all over the place, typical bandai shit.
But again, this is probably the best figures we are getting of these guys.

Scale World. They're willing to do gender differences where it's a simple matter of altered paint details that doesn't require a new mold, with them shiny variants seem more like a question of WHEN rather that IF.

Hell, maybe they're been making shinies this whole time but the odds of finding them are so low that the few people who ended up with them never reported their findings on the internet.

That's the general feeling I get after those Gen7 moncolle and hyper sized legendary birds, the tomy downfall and seeing this new Scale World figures. I got that Typhlosion line for the time being, If wct makes a new bigger and articulated piece I should get one, local store prices are always friendly against limited run imports. The resolution might be timing to get aerodactyl, scizor and blaziken, before shortage, In this case the poor and slow wct distribution is killing my gut.

Yet somehow the thrill of collecting plastic pokémon figures has been by far more exiting than playing it at vg, it's a real sense of catching.

There isn't some Grand Toy Council that decides what figures are okay and which ones aren't, just go with what looks right to you. As you said, Pokemon media is inconsistent as hell in terms of size and beggars really can't be choosers (especially if you have to have articulation).

I've been getting more involved with the WCT releases recently. Redid my display a day or so ago to fit them in. With all their releases, I think I've decided to focus on the original 151 for my display. Might break that rule for Gen 2's lineup, but going this route gives me a good goal to reach for. Plus, I find the success I've had so far makes the display more aesthetically cohesive and pleasing. The nostalgia for me is nice too.

On a different note, I know Tomy has its diehards but I think WCT at least has some good ideas. Sometimes their execution off the production line isn't as clean and they make some weird decisions like not sculpting in Marowak's brow. However, they're far from the worse things ever to exist. If they could have a a lineup at at $15 price point to go along with their ~$7, $10, and $20 lineups and get tone down the gimmicks they can have something really good on their hands. The lack of the former I think really hurts them because some Pokemon are too big for the $10 line but are too small for the $20 line. I saw their $10 Snorlax and I can't bring myself to get it. I think a $20 one would be too big, though. Their Dragonite has that same problem. Such a shame.

Haunter is pretty much everything I wanted out of it. Love how much they seemed to care about giving it free articulation. Its sculpt is great and the decal eyes work really well for the design. My only wish is that it could float higher. Like, being able to be at shoulder level at least. Also more stand arm options for the hands. However, I would count that against it. Multiple stand options is definitely more of a thing for adult collector lined. For $7, what they give you is very workable. I could try being creative with risers and different stands to get my desired results.

Wish Marowak had a ball jointed head. Seems like it could be so easy to implement. All else being equal, I could look past the flat eyes if his head could move more freely.

Tomy usa figures were quite good but their scale was to damn big, most of the time they only scale well among them, although they look good with the figmas. WCT and Scale world are more consistent with each other while also looking well with some Hasbro, Jakks and figuarts stuff

I think they might be the only Gen that have never gotten proper figures in the past. I have those big electric Hasbro figures of Feraligatr and Typhlosion. They scale pretty well with figma, and it would be great to have their mid evos to complete them.

D-arts and Scale World Venusaur are too small for my liking so I made a compromise and went with the Squritle, Ivysaur, Charizard combo as seen in Smash Bros. I have Figuarts Blastoise in storage if a larger Venusaur ever gets made but my display already looks a little cramped.

Being a Pokémon collector is pain unless You acept statue fagging as a part of your life. Articulated stuff it's very fucking limited. Best figures are scattered between multiple lines, most of them dead or canceled. There are a lot of Pokémon You will never find a decent figure of.

like the ones you got there, they are still alive, but collecting them could be ridiculously expensive. Specially for classic generations. There's is also how modern moncolle just can't stop spamming lame re-releases while the new stuff comes quite short.

Produced some Pokémon, more than half of them are around $100.

The most recent, it's gimmick it's about all the figures scaling well with each other in 1/20. Launches are either affordable or fucking expensive or nearly damn imposible to get because there are a lot of sets only sold by premium services.

The only western brand that is producing Pokémon toys right now. Oftenly criticized for it's low quality, people usually compare it's stuff with happy meal toys, not only for how cheap they look and feel but also because the whole line aims mainly to little kids. Even with that distribution it's so horrid some of these figures get super pricey. Only a few of their figures are good.

Even Tomy was late to the party with Gen 7 designs at the time. It probably has to do with Pokemon withholding information. It's been quite some time now though, but perhaps we'll see things soon. But I had kind of assumed this whole buying part of WCT was so that they could have better brand control, including marketing the new gen. But who knows how they think.

They are sourced from different places.

They might be a little hard to fet at rhis rate. Don't know how the aftermarket is like exactly. However I do know Tomy doesn't have the western license for Pokemon right now (Ivysaur was from their last go at it a few years back). Also Bandai discontinued D-Arts, and merged their video games actions figures into their standard S.H. Figuarts line. So Ivysaur and Venusaur are discontinued. Bandai could rerelease Venusaur as a touched up SHF like the other two Kanto starters, but that isn't a guarantee.

You may be better off looking elsewhere if you're concerned about aftermarket price. Where I can't say much about since I already have these. Wicked Cool Toys, who is the current western license holder, has Bulbasaur sold in certain packs. They plan to do a bigass Venusaur and maybe an Ivysaur, but WCT can move slow as molasses when it comes to production.

I've been waiting for a decently scaled Venusaur for an eternity. The D-Arts is a complete let down in that regard, even the Hasbro Combat Venusaur is bigger than it. I've consistently emailed WCT about their Venusaur that was exhibited at the London Toy Fair, but all I got was pic related. I don't think I've seen any news on the Toy Fair figures, including the Gen 1 mid-evos anywhere, let alone them being in-store.

Is that shiny mega Fug yours? That figure it awesome, where did it come from? To answer your question, I have this Mew from the unnamed third series of TFG. It came from a seller in the Phillipines, if I remember correctly, which seems to have a huge collection of unreleased TFG figures judging by how many of them owned by collectors are mentioned to have come from there. Perhaps the factory that produced them was there?

His sculpt is nice. Articulation is pretty basic: big ball joint for the head, swivels for each leg, and a swivel at the base of the tail. Also, his wings flap when you press the spike on his back. Wish he had a jointed mouth but I can live without it.

It's supposed to be Red's team in the games. I don't like the size of any of the Venusaur figures and I didn't want the grass starter to be the only one not in their final evolution so I went with the Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard lineup. I was a bit dubious at first, too. I checked around for a bit and I felt they seemed legit after some snooping. Their posts on Insta look like a proper assembly line and most of the independent studios do amazing work. So I preordered a Starmie and Vileplume set (kantooo gym fag here) I'll let you know how it pans out.
