It doesn't help that the actual transformation appears to be (from monster mode to robot mode):
-Move monster head to the chest
-Flip tail 180, then move it on top of the monster head
-Open what appears to be a panel on the chest, flip head out
That's it. The arms don't do much, and the everything below the pelvis is just flipped 180.
