I wouldn't mind finding Etched Pennywise in the wild. So far the two Wal-Marts (of the three I can get to) that have NECA sections are pretty much sold out of everything. There's some Toony Terrors still (though even those are moving, I think people are going back to catch up on the first wave now), and some leftover Chuckies or Michael Myers. I bought an extra T2 T-800 just cause, but neither has restocked that area since the first roll out. Neither has reset either, though.

Got a good look at the new Mcfarlane stuff though; the Arkham asylum figures are easily the most meh batman/joker figures I've seen, the Cyberpunk figures are alright, and the Cyberpunk Keanu Reeves statue is just that a statue.

Oh yeah plastic quality's been generally better since 2015 or so.
The Turtle mold is a little old, I'd compare it to an upscaled marvel universe figure with interchangeable hands.
It's worth picking up if you dig the pixel look.

Both the GL/pred and batman/alien sets, the black and white Pennywise, and some 2018 Hawkins figures are randomly appearing in stores though it's a real crapshoot if you find any of em.
Officially the stores aren't supposed to be getting em and when they do get em the department managers are just sticking em out since they arent on the collectibles mod.

Not sure of an articulated Legosi dracula but Mezco did a really good Karloff Frankenstein in their One:12 line. It's one of the few figures where the clothes and proportions don't look awkward.

BUT neca just teased that they now have the rights to Universal Monsters.
So we might be getting ultimate figures of them, and if their last horror ultimates are any indication of how they'll turn out then they're going to be great.
I really hope they give us ultimates although I fully expect them giving us toony terrors and retro style first.

Well the HG Predators lend themselves well to countless repaints. You never know they could release something comparable to your game counterpart.

Fugitive Predator
Thermal Fugitive
Assassin
Lab Escape Pred (Fugitive with no armor)
Emissary Predator 1
Emissary Predator 2 (these were both preds in human military fatigues from a scrapped scene in the movie.)

I think that's it, though they have an Assassin predator recolor coming out at some point, and I think they have another repaint of the Fugitive in darker colors that I'm not sure they ever released.

They would have to be. Whenever NECA makes new Predators from different movies they use new tooling. Jungle Hunter has a unique sculpt different from City Hunter, and the AVP 2004 Predators all use a different body as well. Same with Fugitive and Alpha Predator.

The Hunting Grounds Predators all have full body netting and have various body sizes. NECA wow need to use new sculpts. NECA makes a new sculpt then uses it over and over again to save costs.

It's done some awesome stuff with the lore. Loved the audio tapes and how they have references to al the movies except Predators, which makes sense since it doesn't take place on Earth. Would be cool if they end up adding those Super Preds to the game and maybe a Royce or Isabelle to the fireteam.
There's talk of adding more modes so hopefully there'll be a humans+pred vs super/assassin-pred.

Same. I saw them at TRU back when they just hit and held off since I was already getting other stuff, but man do I regret it. The AVP Xeno is probably my favorite design for them, and supposedly it's one of their best xenos

I feel like classic invisible man would be a looong ways away though. I would think they'd prioritize the more known monsters like Frankenstein and Dracula. And Gillman, since he is arguably visually the most interesting.

I got the Ultimate City Hunter. Hips are tight now. Left thigh swivel is frozen, though and it looks like the middle part of his left elbow either didn't get enough plastic poured into the mold or melted. Its weirdly flat and just the lighter of the two skin colors.

I bought and then exchanged her about 6 times until i finally gave up trying to get a good one because every single one had a massive QC flaw. One had two left legs, one had a busted right elbow, another didn't have her mask or spare hand in the box, and the other three all had bad hips that would cause the left leg to fall out with any kind of movement because of the classic Neca hip problems. It's such a shame because I really like the comic figures Neca has done, but it left such a sour taste in my mouth that I've practically lost interest in the line.

So I have almost all of the single packed Kenner predators and their NECA variants in pretty good shape. Maybe some of the cardboard edges are worn, but the figures are all unopened.

On their own, each of these figures are not worth a lot of money. I had them displayed on my wall, but my room looks like a toy store and I kinda grew tired of them so I want to change the aesthetics.

Do you guys think it's worth opening these figures? I heard some of them have QC issues on NECA side, but if I dont open these, they all just gonna get bubble wrapped and go to storage, likely will never see sunlight again for the next however many years until I move from my apartment and maybe someday get a bigger place to live long term.

Heck, I don't know, that's a nice way to display them all if you so wanted. But you could certainly set up an open display as well. If you run into any stuck joints, just be patient and use heat to help pop things free. Are you opening them up and then packing them away? You could just wait and pack them up as is, easier to keep track of all the accessories and tiny bits...

To answer your question, the ones I had from this line are generally fine, they have the usual NECA Pred problems though (loose hips and generally mediocre posing ability despite having plenty of joints). So take that as you will I suppose.

Honestly, the old Kenner ones you can find on eBay for like $10-$15 brand new. Even less if they're opened.

Some of them are kind of ugly now though, like the Glow in the Dark Stalker and the translucent Ambush Predator. Age has made them turn horrible mucus-looking colors.

I finally got around to watching War for the planet of the apes. Great stuff, kind of sad how little it got discussed circa release. Anyways I'm bringing this all up because I remembered the neca apes line was a thing. What happened to it to merit it's death? Poor sales? Lack of interest? Jesus, a Neca- scaled Bruce would be fucking enormous. Like, bigger than the Queen Alien. Bruce was 25ft in the film, so a 1/9 scale toy would be 30” long. Even a 1/12-ish scale one would be nearly 2ft long, that’s bigger than the size of the Kenner Thrasher T-Rex.

Not that I’m complaining. I’d buy any Bruce figure that big (I do own one of the Funko Reaction figures).

Not sure what happened, but even before War Luca was and still is hella-expensive, and Maurice is the second priciest. Caesars and Kobas are still available at retail prices on EBay, though the gun versions are a little pricier.

Maybe Neca lost the license or didn’t renew it? Shame really, they could have reused everyone but Koba, and retooled Luca to make Donkey and Winter.

Yeah that most necas in a nut shell. I wish there was some sort of stand for them that wasn't a doll stand. Because doll stands are the only thing in found sturdy enough to hold them. But christ are they bulky and ugly.

And I got Drake, which I'm happy about cause BBTS was taking forever to get it. I'm glad I saw >>8168889 yesterday, because I didn't realize what the actual "problem" was. The factory attached an extra piece, and you actually have to remove one square piece that's clamped on (and pop/peel the wire glued on off) and replace it with the new back piece.

Super strange, and it seems to be causing a lot of confusion with people. And I can't blame them. The figure's great though, everything moves well, torso can be frustrating cause you're dealing with the ball waist and the mid-torso movement.

Face is delightful. It's such a good expression of intense anger while fighting off some bugs.

I think it was smart getting Shredder and Krang out again, but it does kind of stall itself when the turtles sell OUT so fast...so if you don't have the turtles, you're not as likely to get the baddies.

The Shredder and Krang set has a bigger disadvantage because unlike the turtle 2-packs, they're basically the same. The original releases (with each turtled packed with a bad guy) had the turtles in the original darker cartoon deco, while the new releases have the brighter deco that was used for a lot of merchandising. So that means anyone who got the first wave would still have some incentive to get the turtles in the second wave since they're recolored, but no incentive to get Shredder and Krang since they're largely unchanged.

Same. I thought the originals looked a little too dark, but they went way too far in brightening them for wave 2. Though my guess is that if they do go for a third release, they'll go with the multiple skin color deco that they've had off and on since the original toys.

It looks like they might be heading this route with the 1/4 turtles. At least, that's what I'm predicting based on the colour they have made Raph.
I'd say they're going to eventually do a 7" release with the different colours and heads, especially as they've shown a heap of upcoming figures from this line, and they're taking forever to release.
People won't want to jump in on the line a year or so from now when all you can buy are enemies - gotta have some turtles for them too, and with another release they'll get repeat sales from everyone that already has the first two versions.

I didn't realize these things were so sought after. My local Walmart reupped on em with T1 and Leatherface. Wish I got them. I picked up Nightmare 1 and a Pinhead, the Pinhead I got from a local game/collector store. I love the box art in these. I'm not a hardcore toy collector and am just passing through this board

They did re-release the darker ones pretty recently. Some Targets got them. Randy said that was probably it for Turtles and can't see releasing them again when there's already been so many opportunities to get the basic turtles.
