>>8185043(To preface, I'm located in America, where DHL is the only option for manda right now.)
The box on the right is definitely bigger than the one on the left when I look at them side-by-side, just sucks that such a small difference costs so much more. But I think it has more to do with how Sahra calculates their shipping upfront rather than the actual box size, which I'll discuss right now.
Here's my advice when ordering from Mandarake right now. I'd say AVOID Sahra if you're purchasing smaller figures, if you can. Because they calculate shipping from the start, it seems like they've categorized all figures into a higher cost category, even if they could go into a smaller box. The cheaper box in the picture was from the Complex store, and I bought an amiibo from them (along with a couple other small keychains). I just checked Sahra's shipping cost for an amiibo, and sure enough, it was 3210 yen. You can see that Cu-poche faceplate set would DEFINITELY have fit into the cheaper box, but the shipping cost was still coming up as 3210 yen even when it was all alone in my Sahra cart, so I added it to my nendoroid order and both of them together were still the same price.
I typically don't like buying from other stores besides Sahra because I like seeing the total cost upfront, but you're almost definitely going to pay more for shipping right now than you would from another store if you're just buying something kind of small. I hesitate to say that a nendoroid would be in a cheaper box if you're buying from another store besides Sahra, because while it definitely fits in that smaller box on the left with room for padding, it's pushing it a little bit, and whoever's packing your order might put it in a slightly bigger box to be safe. But I'd say you're better off taking the risk from another store than you are paying the shipping upfront with Sahra.
