Fuck off, Scooby was great, it's amazing how iconic and recognizable the figs and builds were. I'm not even a Scooby fan but the Mystery Machine is a 10/10 set.

However, I gotta say that for me Indiana Jones and Avatar are probably the most disappointing sets. Indy had good ideas and detail but it was before flesh minifigs got standardized (weird blue eyes) and LEGO hit peak builds. The sets are a bit too focused on being playsets even though the Indy scenery would make for great display pieces.
Would love to see the 7621 vignette updated with modern techniques (a la Pharoah Quest)

Avatar for the same problems but honestly complete shit builds and being dropped before the IP even saw a peak in a popularity.

So, after a long wait the verdict is out!

I've decided on how we're going to do the prizes (and I once again apologize it took so long but work stuff has been on me pretty bad).

As per the original rules we're going to have 3 winners - two picked by me and another one that was randomly drawn.

For my own choices I have picked: EcoTron and the Lego Space Pirates.

For the random draw I decided to use random.org and just have a number from 1 to 10 - I have 10 folders each containing one entry's pictures,lore and videos. If it had landed on one of the previous two winners I would have re-rolled.

The roll came up and our third prize winner is Reptillitron.

Now, these are the prizes that were initially discussed and promised. However, seeing how many people participated and decided to submit very good builds I have decided to expand on this a bit.

The winners above will receive their prizes as per the original rule set and will be consider 1st place and will receive 70 USD each.

The following - Alien Trader, Morphtron and Precursoids are considered 2nd place and will each receive a 20 USD prize.

Last but not least - Paradisa Space Program, the Galactic Council Navy, Modular Multi Mission Mobile Command Vehicle and Meditron will be awarded 3rd place and will receive 10 USD each.

I have all your emails, tomorrow at around the same time as this post I will email you and get in touch in order to get everyone their prizes.

The prizes are money and thus you can spend it on whatever your heart desires, but if you choose to spend it on Lego I would greatly appreciate it if you could post what you got with your prize money in the thread and let me know. That's my only request.

Other than this, thank you to everyone who participated, I honesty didn't expect 10 people to sign and am very glad for it.

Now I know lego won't do realistic modern military stuffs, but what about green vs tan plastic army men sets? where the vehicles are very much ww2 / vietnam era inspired, but the terrain can be big duplo blocks and other toys built from lego? Similar to the toy story set, but more soldiers, accessories, tanks, and duplicate sets in tan.

So I did a little work for you. Basically that should be a search for any "minifigure" that has at least 5 in stock for a store and its sorted by price from low to high. Around page 28 you'll start to see minfigures. That is like 70 cents and up. I also picked USA as the country if that matters to you. Most random figures go for at least a buck each, but you might find some deals.

Ooooo, hard to find pieces, tiles in a (i believe) 10 dollar set? And comes with a quarter of a baseplate? This is really nice! Too bad it's all licensed. I would love to see Johnny Thunder, Clutch Powers or The Ninja done in this way. Basically any original LEGO themes. Space, Pirates, Castle.

Really neat idea. I hope they don't only stick with licenses. I love this direction Lego is taking, they are taking risks with electronics and more artsy ideas. Exciting stuff for the future.

For me it's the classic exploration and mystery type of action that the theme presents. Egypt was a pretty unique theme to go to after Space, Pirates, and Western also. If you're a fan of classic adventure films or books, it was a good fit too.
