If we look at all his variants, we have all these ideas that someone clearly thought were cool...a black suited assassin with a QuiRKy rANdoM head, big guns, samurai swords, Chucks, boom boxes, ninjas, samurai, trenchcoats, Bowie, the Sex Pistols, skateboarding...it's all just a little much and comes off to me like a real "how do you do, fellow kids" type move. Knowing when to exercise restraint is part of what makes things cool to me--like I might like a whole team of characters with these tropes separated out amongst them, but when applied to a single OC, it feels so cringy and Gary Stu-ish. Even the default roach head itself is obnoxious to me, with the stylized glaring eyes and shit. It looks so 90s bad boy, but not in a good way.
I'm all for having fun and creating original IPs, but Gomez really just rubbed me the wrong way. It feels like "reference to cool thing: the figure."
