Are we talking toylines or the show? The show itself has been fairly sucessful, with 5 seasons, many awards and a lot of social media hype. It just doesn't appeal to the man babies who buy toys.

Such a failure they didn't even release the show on DVD or VHS. The only way you can watch it is via tv rips. Bringing the Joes down to 5 POA was the ultimate insult, despite all that however, I actually love how silly and over the top the line up was.

Netflix seasons don't indicate renewal, just release schedule. I don't know about this show, but an initial order is often multiple seasons now.

That one really only failed from a toy perspective and I am pretty sure that is mostly down to the obvious contempt Super7 showed for it (They knew nobody would buy a $30 4PoA figure) and the usual modern Mattell incompetence. As far as show reboots go it was at least moderately successful and had they made toys more in line with the older show in might have had some toy success.
Before you freak out and start calling me an SJW shill or whatever I think the reboot looks ugly and I haven't watched it. I can just admit that it did at least well enough to get five seasons.

There's an intended number of episodes at the start and instead of getting one episode a week they release them in small chunks while they continue working on the next episodes.
I don't think we had a case where the show doesn't get a chance to finish up that number since Netflix probably paid for all of them already.

I loved them, but I guess the Extreme Dinosaurs were a failed continuation of Street Sharks considering there was never another line in that style. If there was another line what creatures they'd do. Bugs? Wildcats?

This is a good example, Four Horsemen's Power Lords relaunch. What a shame, they took a cult toyline with designs by notable fantasy artist Wayne Barlowe and updated them. Just didn't catch on.

Rise of TMNT. I know the majority of fans and even some casuals disliked, no despised it, and the toyline was proof of that. I don't even think I ever saw wave 2 anywhere and the stores are just now trying to rid them.

I know it wasn't too long ago when Playmates showed off Waves 3 and 4 but with the Coronavirus, those must have been put on hold, or more likely, cancelled cuz they haven't revealed a peep about them since.

Oh yeah. Power Players as well. Shame.

A few good contenders include troll dolls (seriously there are half a dozen revivals of these ugly cunts from over the years), Dragon flyz/sky dancers (I've seen just as many licensed variations on the same concept), and 80s one hit wonders like the cabbage patch kids,care bears, and the pound puppies. Every time hasbro has attempted to bring back either of the latter two it never catches on. Care Bears is definitely the funnier of the two, because there was a point in time after the brony boom of the early 2010's that hasbro attempted to go after the same market with a new iteration of the care bears. I believe they even came up with a cringe inducing marketing term along the lines of "care bros"or something.

Ironically this seems to have failed due to bad marketing. The initial release was crap ( I literally went to several Walmarts with actual pictures of the box they were shipped in, since they kept cancelling the online orders for pickup). And still to this day, even with it on its third set of the tcg, I cannot find a box of fucking boosters.
Little to no online presence, and it's pretty much hell to find a specific Bakugan without it being overpriced.
It sucks since my wife and I actually like the tcg. The show sucks donkey #### though for any adult willing to sit through it with their kid.

Yeah I was really into this but also understand the fanbase wasn't big enough to be viable. Better marketing might've help though. Or maybe if they started out 6 or 7 inch.

I also wondered, if 4H wasn't dealing with Mythic Legion around the same time? iirc then they might kept trying to keep Power Lords going. They just didn't have the money to keep both project alive so they picked the one with greater potential.
