Dunno about paint, but it might look paler than the promotional pics. That's how they looked when it was showcased.

It's Bandai, so you can imagine a relatively solid figure. But may be a tad bit too expensive for something that comes with nothing.

If this is a repaint of the standard KotM Godzilla, you can expect a pretty great figure. Only issue is limited and tight shoulder movement, other than that it's amazing.

That's fair, I was a bit iffy on the price as well. I just really do like this Goji power-up and I had a really good time with the movie with some friends. I think I enjoyed this sculpt a lot more compared to the alternatives. So I suppose it was worth the asking price for me in particular.

I also just assume these figures go up in price? So I thought it was fine to but instead of waiting as the price inflates

Awesome. Feel pretty fulfilled with my purchase then. New to /toy/ btw, this board seems pretty comfy compared to other boards who console war and shit. Worst I've scene is like Neca vs SH stuff but its pretty minor.

and have reasonable expectations for range of movement with godzilla toys (more than the worse spectrum of expectations but not a humanoid athlete figure's range of movement), you'll be okay. SHM always goes up in price regardless of how good or bad the release is, so buying at retail if you like it is the good move. Don't damage the packaging badly when you open it, and if you don't like the figure, sell it off.

I bought a NECA Godzilla vs Kong figure that I was really satisfied with. If it's more than that that's already enough for my needs honestly. It 100% gateway drugged me into getting a pricier fig

no it's just a godzilla based on the godzilla from that movie. No kong to my knowledge sadly. I would adore a goofy kong fig but none exist as far as i know

NECAs are pretty nice for their price range. I got the movie TMNTs and a few Arnold and Pennywise and they're great, except for the Arnold I got that had QC issues. I think you should be ok with your purchase, like I said, with SHM it's easy enough.. repack it and sell it. Sometimes you end up selling it for more, sometimes you can let it go for new, retail priced item.

OP Here, on bigbadtoystore I see a Black Series Mando that looks sweet for 22 bucks that comes out in august. Is that something that I need NOW if I want it, or will that be in bigger retail stores for a while?

I've heard good things about a couple of the reissues of their older figures but I don't know enough to say for sure.

Overall though SHMA is definitely the way to go, especially if you're wanting better sculpts.
