It's disappointing. Lot of ideas and none of them feels really explored. Go on if you want but I've seen it for real and it's a mess. Personally I prefer this one. Smaller and with less functions but it does it's job. But again it's up to you.

honestly my breaking point has been reached and surpassed

the last line I was WOWED by was the Ninjago Movie sets which were awesome and I bought almost the whole line. Since then quality has gotten much worse, themes have not interested me, and prices seem just way too unreasonable

Barracuda Bay is the only set I might get but it has been out of stock for months and who knows when those of us that missed out will be able to get it

What have you been working on?
I've just finished making a new little surface scout ship for Blacktron 2. It was originally going to be an Exploriens ship but I ended up not having enough parts to make it work for them (my parts inventory heavily favors black parts).
I also ended up making a small droid for them too. I always found it odd that the entire Blacktron 2 line never features any sort of robots, droids or automated helpers for our brave spacemen.

Speaking of Exploriens, I've just recently rebuilt one of my childhood sets - 1858. Haven't rebuilt the figure since I used some parts of it to make a custom figure which I really enjoyed as a child.
Other than that I added a few parts and rebuilt 6854 into what I believe is a much more suitable and sane form. Unfortunately the alien fossil sniffing feature has been (intentionally?) lost.

Late 2000s, I think. I have sets from the 70s to mid 2000s and they have solid pegs, whereas later sets have hollow ones.

Not sure about bricks but for plates like 1x4 or 1x6 and 1x8 cut off year is 1993-1994.
Check unboxibg od sealed sets. Ones from 1993 will have solid pegs under side. Ones from 1994 will already have hollow tubes.

I will do more research for actual bricks too.

It's decently sized and I'd say it's worth the price if you really want it, otherwise I'd wait for a sale or something. In terms of stickers, there's barely any prints aside from maybe one, it's basically just two huge sticker sheets.

Hollow pegs for plates were introduced in 1994, for bricks probably in 1999. I've seen unboxing of 1st series Luke Landspeeder and 6x1 brick already has hollow pegs.

and so too are the tan ugly little rock walls, and the parts for the hot air balloon show up in that color scheme in like, one other set. Fucking nuts. At least the minifigs and tiles and stuff are pretty common.

It's probably just nostalgia talking, but man, 90s theme sets were really great.

Kinda wish it was green, because it reminds me of an old retired crocodile that I often saw as a kid. Still looking great, though I'm not a fan of the big gaps between the cabin and the noses. Interesting that they brought back the classic style of rails.
