>>8234149I get what you're saying, but aren't most US cities more worldly and full of better stuff than the majority of other countries?
There was a post last week about some guy who lived in the capital of his country, living in some tiny apartment where the only place to stand whiel taking a shower was ontop of his toilet.
I'd rather live in one of these cities, which are probably more populace, thus having greater amenities than wherever that guy was living.
Cheaper house/apt, a couple of comic book shops, nearby anime/comic conventions, and thousands of stores from online to buy toys and imports cheaply from.
I mean, i can think of a couple of cities that are about an hour away from me that are basically what I'd call bumfuck, nowhere and they're much cheaper despite the distance.
They're not Texas McMansion cheap, but i could buy a bigger house in one of these places than the one I'm at. Buuuuut, since i can afford my city, why bother?
I have an ex who moved to one of these cities because it was cheap and she has a much nicer house than me. She sticks to that city though, because she doesn't like the two hour round trip to visit here and doesn't see her family as much.
I know of people from other places where that two hour trip is like nothing though. even people taking public transportation in big cities spend almost that much time on their commute everyday.
We're so fucking spoiled.
