I was about 11 or 12 when I became protective of my toys paint apps and breakables. Pic related was among very few figures my brother and I DIDN'T recieve in the last couple years, and was still in decent shape in 2003. He got left outside and munched by our dog, his head was all chewed up.
That was the day that I stopped playing rough with my toys, no more taking them outside, no more throwing figures, blah blah. I think I might've ruined toys for my little brother, I feel like that was also close to when he lost interest.
But I couldn't replace that figure, I only knew of one vintage store, it was a very far drive to talk my parents into, and that particular era didn't tend to show up often. Not to mention they were kinda expensive.
