I don't know how I'd feel if they gave Timber some battle gear. Maybe if it was removable in some way. I'd like to just have a normal articulated wolf figure. Although having a decent stand in for DD would also be cool

My bigger question is, will Ripcord be white or black? He's an unlikely character to include unless they're making him black like in Rise of Cobra and Renegades, and black Ripcord is probably far more well known.

Since Transformers does crossovers now. What crossovers would you like GIJoe to do? Other than the confirmed GIJoe Transformers crossover of course.

No, my entire point is just cross over whatever you want that's in or around the same scale. Figuarts, Figma, have your Joes fighting Predators and Xenomorphs. I just remembered I have the SOTA Street Fighter figures, so I could cross them over, really relive the 90s with that one.

This would be dope. I like to use MGSV as a Joe/Snake Eyes simulator. I have an S++ rank soldier that I deploy who is named Bastard Python and he's got increased sprinting speed. I give him the sneaking suit with the balaclava, MRS4, ZE-EV, and take DD with me and terrorize the soldiers in Africa.

Duke would be a paladin, Scarlett a rogue, Snake Eyes would be some multiclassed abomination including fighter/ranger/rogue. Doc as a cleric. Flash/Grandslam/SciFi as a wizard. Roadblock would probably just be a basic fighter. Spirit would definitely be a ranger.

For Cobra I'm less sure.

I don't think they are. I'm pretty sure Robert Remus (Sgt. Slaughter) owns the rights to the character and is free to do what he wants with it. Hasbro didn't create Sgt. Slaughter so they don't have any say so in it.

If there was a company that might have some kind of say it would've been Mattel but they haven't made a Sgt. Slaughter figure since '18. However if I'm the guy running the G.I Joe line I'm shooting the company lawyers an email to check into how Valaverse secured Sarge's likeness and endorsement. Sarge is 71 so he very well could've just signed away his likeness for a quick couple grand but if I'm the guy running the line I'd like to know for a fact that Valaverse didn't over step and use language possibly leading Sarge to think that Action Force is somehow affiliated with G.I. Joe. I could see Hasbro holding off on Slaughter until the line had a few waves under its belt and then pushing him as a Pulse exclusive next Spring/Summer.

At most, Hasbro has the trademark for the specific G.I. Joe version of Slaughter. So Remus (assuming he owns the trademark of his personal and not WWE at this point) probably can license to Valaverse but he can't lead a team or do anything that could resemble what the Hasbro version does. I'm assuming that Bobby Vala is pretty familiar with Hasbro's legal team and knows not to tangle with something like that. But I guess we'll find out for sure if he gets a cease and desist and the pre-orders disappear. The fact that Slaughter himself did the promotion makes me think it's square.

Sgt. Slaughter himself owns the character and likeness rights. Its his character. Hasbro never owned the character or likeness rights. And as he was in the video Valaverse made when they revealed the figure I doubt he was tricked, because he calls it Action Force and not GI Joe. Most wrestlers from back in the 80s own the characters they created.

That's all I know. the only other tidbit of trivia I have about the movie was that Duke was supposed to die, but the Transformers the Movie writers liked the idea and stole it for their movie and the reaction to his death made Hasbro change Dukes death to just a coma with some ADR added in.

It was partly writer Buzz Dixon, who wanted to explain the backstory of Cobra, thinking that somebody had to be funding the organization, and when he wrote down the idea for Cobra-La, the name was supposed to be a placeholder, but Hasbro liked the name. He knew during season 2 that there was going to be a movie about the origins of Cobra, though originally it was just going to be an episode about the founder of Cobra, who was a Karl Marx sort of guy that Cobra Commander had imprisoned and twisted his philosophy. Perhaps if he shut up about trying to answer a question that nobody asked-- the hows and whys of Cobra, the idea of Cobra-La would have never happened. It was sort of like a Serpentor situation where multiple ideas were pitched and Hasbro liked them all. He also was responsible for the idea that Cobra-La was techo-organic.

Buzz Dixon divorces himself from the movie, saying he wrote it but doesn't take responsibility for it, as the script passed thru multiple writers and then the movie was censored. Duke was supposed to die and the fight with Globulus is censored when he gets stabbed in the eye, which features a bit of a jump cut to remove the gore. Hasbro got cold feet and butchered the movie in a few spots, demanding Zarana wear a one piece swim-suit when she was supposed to be shown as topless from behind, and then changed to wearing a two-piece bikini, only to be given a one piece instead. Then Hasbro added dialogue over Duke's death, stating that he fell into a coma, despite that he's clearly dead.

Buzz Dixon: "[If] you watch the visuals and don't listen to the soundtrack, it's obvious Duke dies."

At the end of the movie they then have some dialogue which comes from off screen saying that Duke came out of his coma.

I enjoyed the comics making it clear they succeed at least some of the time, and that Cobra Commanders true strength is his absolute stranglehold of legal and money matters, and a helping of being able to appeal to the common american people no matter how much he fucks things up. Otherwise you're left wondering how they keep funding death rays and attack helicopters and hordes of soldiers. He's not a great warrior chief, just a really dirty businessman with a mask and symbol, like most cult leaders.

I’ve been collecting Joes since ‘86 and, while I will always have a place in my heart for the original ARAH line, I hate these putrid re-re-releases. Everything about them are terrible. If it’s not the original figures what’s the point? I’m happy to move onto Classified because they’re putting a hell of a lot more effort into these new figures than they ever did shitting out old figures year after year, decade after decade.

The figure has excellent poseability, but the elbows that can't go past 90º are a sore thumb. So far the only figures I've gotten from the Cassified line is exclusive Snake Eyes and not-Pimp Daddy Destro. I'll get a regular Destro and Cobra Commander when i find them in stores.

I don't care at all for the Joe team so far. I may get a red ninja. maybe.

Didn't feel limited at all in the hips doing this pose. I don't have Destro yet but I can't imagine his hips are any different from the other figures I have so far with the line. Like the other Anon said, the Destro poster just sucks as posing. The only articulation Hasbro needs to improve with these in my opinion are wrists on balls instead of hinges.
