When you collect a toy line or buy a toy figure, either western or eastern, do you care for the lore? Does that hinder you from buying a certain toy?
I will give an example.
I bought scalped, second-handed MOTUC (Masters of the Universe Classics) back in 2017-2018. The dollar was very strong at the time (I'm not American) and I started to collect 'em just because "the designs were cool".
I never read any He-Man comic or watched the cartoon. But I care for the lore. After getting around 9-10 MOTUCs, which were expensive, I downloaded the comics and the episodes of He-Man.
Man, it was shit. Sorry MOTUfags, but it was shit.
Anyway, I sold all of them, including the Battle Cat and Battle Armor He-Man, along with Fisto, which are rare, for dirt-cheap. Now I only collect lines whose lore I like. Such as from my favorite animes and franchises (Star Wars, Marvel, DC...)
So, what's your relation with a toy line and their lore? Do you like to research it or you buy things that looks aesthetically good?
I will give an example.
