>>8281302They are dope as fuck.
Three way sound, so you get much more clarity than pretty much every 2 way design on the market.
I have a pair of 260s that don't sound as good and like i said, better sound than those Def Tech bookshelfs.
The passive radiator in the back makes them sound way deeper than ordinary towers with their flabby sounding ports.
Coming across them is pretty rare though and if you go through eBay, the shipping costs will put them over their value fast.
I've pretty much been monitoring my local Craigslist for 3 years to find ANY Heritage Klipschs and i've only seen less than 10, because most owners are keeping them until their deaths.
Unsurprisingly, sleepy towns known for their old people communities routinely have them, but I'm not traveling over hundred miles, sometimes across statelines, to buy speakers. It's not like i actually need them.
Pretty much any of the past Klipschs will sound better than most speakers on the market today that costs under $1000. KG, Heritage, KLF line, and CF series. KG series are the cheapest, but they're easily better than any of Klipschs current PREMIERE Reference line which is not to be confused with the regular Reference line. So you won't need to spend a lot of money for great sound and deep as fuck bass if you get the bigger ones. Bass that outdoes the cheapshit subwoofers that come in those budget surround sound box sets and soundbar systems.
Klipsch didnt make budget shit until the 00s, so the old shit still holds up today in terms of sound quality and build quality. recapping them or installing new crossovers is overrated, because the difference is slight. Audiophiles are crazy anal though, so they'll pay more for a bit of improvement (or not in cases of bullshit lie products). My Quartets were modified, but since it was the first time I've ever seen them pop up in years, i paid the premium.
