Im not even from USA but even im aware of this style of monkeys being popular during that period of time.
that monkey is basically a funko pop of that era - circus based character.because circus meant FUN

Doubt it, heck video rentals didnt even exist during toy story 3 time except for a FEW outliers, and they DEFINITELY weren't "VHS rentals" anymore

I grew up down the street from a local pawn shop/junk dealer who got one of these cymbal monkeys in, I wanted to buy it real bad because of how creepy it looked but he wanted something like $60 for it which was expensive to a kid in high school with no job. So I went back and forth about if I should spend some of my savings on it, but he died not long after. His family came up from Florida to handle his estates and they just boarded the building up without even moving anything out. It's been that way for over a decade now so I've always thought about trying to break in and see if it's still in there.
