I only started collecting within the last year, so a majority of my figures are Warden era stuff (with a few Archer era, 3P and Kenner stuff mixed in).
Overall I think he made some really fun toys despite the issues some have.
By no means was he perfect but he was still pretty good.

Eh, I'm more interested in seeing what the end blood does after WfC but I think Warden is leaving on a high note for sure.

That dinobot is pretty good and cheetor wasn't half-assed he was just a shit design like many G1 Universe figures. The Thrilling 30 (who I assume he still handled since he didn't leave til 2013 and warden didn't becone lead til CW) BW guys and armada starscream were good designs outside of any QC issues. Only non-g1 guy who was bad was Sky-Byte who, surprise, was designed by warden. Since then all we've had were I'll-fitting afterthought remolds and OpOp who had the absolute laziest design of any of the
armor-up leaders and had to be dragged out of him via fan vote.

I love the shield. It makes him look like a Zaku II. And I grew up with Beast Wars and one of my favourite toys was K9 and his whole back turned into a shield. Plus I just like shields in general. Transformers mostly just get guns. Plus the 5mm compatibility makes for some fun combinations. And it being a platform actually makes sense for Ironhide.

It's either "face on chest" or "face on back", and either "robot legs under chest" or "robot legs are beast legs".

Yeah, that's total shit.
He's the ONLY one where they haven't gone with cartoon accuracy. I don't get it. That yellow light piping has got to be on its own little sprue in the factory, so I don't know what their excuse is.

Fans can paint clear red over yellow and have clear red, but you can't paint clear yellow over red and have clear yellow.

Soundwave looks better with a yellow visor anyway.
