They have more points of articulation, but their bodies tended to be really weirdly proportioned and their human facesculpts were bizarrely bad, especially the women. Their more monstrous/weird characters are fucking amazing though, so are their BAFs.

Hasbro definitely one-upped them in consistency, but this also makes them a bit safe and boring.

Ive found that if I have two of the same character, it’s easy to talk myself into selling them. X-Men is harder because I have so many villains that I essentially have a “duplicate” team (love triangle Wolverine, black suit Storm, Phoenix) that consists of figures that I already have versions of in my display. So, for example, if you have the Gold team, you could put 2-pack colossus in there, and if you got the sentinel, you could have the Select one fighting it. Problem solved.

Dwight and a few of the marketing guys from Hasbro had an interview with Shartimus and they said because they hit all 3 tiers so quickly, they have lots of time to try and add more tiers so more stuff isn't out of the question it seems.

I can excuse having more than one of the same character when it’s a different outfit. Gray Beast, Mohawk Storm, 80s Wolverine, even jacketed Cyclops. But Select and 2 pack Colossus are the same outfit. I think the Select looks better in a display than the Legends. Yes he’s a good deal taller but most of the time he towered over everyone. The Legends feels too short to me. Yet I can do more with the alternate hands on the Legends.

Maybe I’ll just paint the Select’s hair blue.

I'd say the only essentials other than what you have are Mystique, Sabretooth and Juggernaut.
Other villains worth getting would be Omega Red, Silver Samurai, Onslaught, Sauron and Stryfe.

Blob is overpriced and bad, in my opinion. Pyro is getting a new release, so hopefully it is the HoX costume. I'd suggest the Juggs vs. Colossus 2 pack over the Select, it's traditional colors, has some neat alternate heads and hands.

I watched the new hasbro interview so you don't have to, here's what was discussed

1) Asked about tiers. Hasbro said they floated a couple ideas before deciding on the smaller sentinels. The ideas were a classic Shadowcat and scorched Wolverine skeleton. Dumped those, cause they didnt want people stuck with duplicates. Sentinel had army building appeal so they wanted army building figures.

2) He went all in with the Moonstone questions "Things seem to be regressing with the females, in terms of how voluptuous they may look. Next to the male figures, they don't look as appealing. Is there any chance of making them more busty?"
Hasbro guys responded they want to be respectful of the characters and the brand has evolved, but the Moonstone mold has a home again this year, maybe two homes.

3) Asked if they are open to future big figures, maybe once a year. They said yeah for sure, but are also looking at smaller Haslabs, figures that require unique tooling and may be too expensive for retail. Later one of the hasbro guys added he wants to see Cameron Hodge as a figure, and it might be possible through smaller Haslab

4) Said they do plan on making furry body, as there are some important characters on it such as Wolfsbane and Tigra

5) Told them that people are upset about Walmart and gave them character recommendations, such as comic Falcon, Marauders, Hellfire goons, etc

6) Asked about the H book. They said it's a big month for Xmen fans and in next couple of days some stuff is about to drop

I’d be okay with another big tiddy body to replace the Moonstone one. The hips, ankles, and neck are all garbage when it comes to articulation range. That being said, Hasbro needs to quit censoring their figures. They’re super heroes, they don’t need to be super modest or something.

Excited for Wolfsbane, Feral, comic Falcon, and Cameron Hodge. I’m sure we’ll get them all soon enough.

So I was curious and popped on the Spider UK head on the new retro Spider-Man figure and while a tad big it works and honestly I kind of prefer it over the one we got. And the hands from the toys r us two pack with Mary Jane work well with the figure

The buffest woman body mold. Started with Moonstone back in 2013 as part of the SDCC Thunderbolts set. Some other noteworthy examples: Santana, Classic Gamora, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, Jim Lee Rogue, and Scream being the last use of it in 2018.

Honestly, it’s not a great body mold. Being so old, it has some limited range in some spots, particularly the hips, and, elbows, ankles, and lack of a neck disc. The bicep swivel can also get really loose.

But. It’s the only mold we’ve got that actually matches the superhero look for a lot of female characters. It’s been discontinued because Hasbro is trying to be “respectful” by not making characters with huge tits and ass. This is especially notable for figures like Dagger, Emma Frost, and the recent AoA Jean Grey.

A lot of people, myself included, take issue with the double standard that all the women figures have to be skinny sticks while the men come in all shapes and sizes. That being said, I’d be 100% down with an updated mold, one just as muscular but with better range of articulation.

I would want 4-5 Deadpool figures. 90s Classic, Modern, UDON, Movie and Weapon X Deadpool. Nope! Fuck this, I'm done with the movie versions. I'm still pissed that they made us buy a comic Colossus of a shit version to complete Juggernaut in X-Men wave 1 only to release the 90's version that fits the rest of the group while being forced to buy Juggernaut again.

This bothered me so much. I just hate two-packs in general. They shouldn't be there to sell a figure that hasn't been done before but to be a potential way of reducing costs for customers who want two specific figures

I hope Jim Lee Colossus ends up in the best-of Wave because I'd sell the Juggernaut wave one in a heartbeat. Same with that stupid retro-package Storm. I just hope the packages are the regular black ones and not some outlandish shit

Also, I'm just glad we're pretty much done with 90's X-Men, give or take, so I can wind down on my purchasing. I skipped X-Force & AOA because I just don't care enough for the cost.

Even that FF wave was crap with some gold because Walgreens got the best FF versions. Dr Doom was awesome though. Looking forward to this weeks reveals to see what I'll skip. My Wishlist is pretty empty at this point and I'm ready to move on from ML collecting.

I've wrapped up on collecting MCU stuff with Endgame/FFH, my interest in the MCU is pretty much gone, and I knocked out both my definitive versions of the X-Men and classic Avengers last year. I've picked up a few figures here and there this year, Doom, a few Spidey figs, and Mar-Vell. Completely skipped the AoA wave. I'm getting a good portion of the Spidey wave and I'll snag Deadpool but other than that I'm not sure what else they could release that'd grab my interest.

Same here. I a list in my head of what figures I still need and it is very short. There are some maybes but basically I want:
Wolfsbane to finish X-Factor proper
Random (maybe)
Feral, Rictor, and Siryn to finish X-Force proper
Banshee, Longshot, Spiral, Mojo, and maybe Pyro.

Oh, yeah I forgot how bad they need to update Banshee. Want Siryn. Loved X-Force, not sure if I still love it enough to pay to build a team. I loved the New Mutants but missed the Walgreens exclusives. Hate the new Thunderbird, he looks too anemic. They kind of took their sweet ass time dribbling out the X-Force releases that I lost enthusiasm.

And I'm just goddamned tired of the exclusives and dealing with scalpers.

Couldn't care less. I have zero interest in it and quite frankly anything MCU. They might be able to get me back with GotG Vol 3 or the new Dr. Strange movie but otherwise I'm done. It was a fun romp and I think Endgame was a satisfying conclusion.

X-Force is fairly cheap on the secondary market. You can still get domino at retail price at some online stores, Boom Boom and Cannonball are selling below retail, and Shatterstar is at about 25ish. The only expensive one is Cable, really.

My main thing with collecting is I try to have a set goal in mind. I used to be a "buy everything because its brand X" collector, but you end up with so much shit its stupid. So, I now make plans about what I will and will not buy with all the lines I'm collecting. It limits the amount of trash I end up with, and having a "finished" collection is a great feeling, honestly.

I was thinking about the same thing, until I saw that the entire upper body is separated from the crotch, it will be a fucking easy thing to fix, hell, even better because I'll make a nude Emma and instead of changing the entire middle torso you just need to change the crotch, and also no plastic upper thighs like the moonstone body, just simple ball joints, so take off the legs and the upper torso and have fun, I'm seriously impressed

The guns are probably meant for Pierce.
The Magneto helmet I'd guess for people who got the 3-pack and Apocalypse wave Magneto's, so they can have classic Magneto holding his helmet (because they were too dumb to just remove one of the helmets themselves).
It's an odd inclusion for sure, almost as odd as a random folded Wolverine mask.
