You need a plastic respirator mask that forms a good seal with your face (there are multiple sizes available) and 2097 particulate cartridges which must be changed out regularly as they become ineffective after a certain amount of use. You should wet-sand whenever possible, as this reduces the amount of airborne particulates, and also if possible, try to work somewhere that's not your immediate living space, to minimize the risk of breathing in leftover dust you might have missed.
That's just the safety parts too, if this is your first garage kit you will need to get the hang of trimming flash, filling gaps and bubbles in the resin, drilling for joints, gluing, painting etc. It's a big leap forward if you're used to snapshitting.
