It already is for me. I refuse to pay scalper prices. I refuse to go store hunting (I mean fruitless, endless searching, easily available is another better story). And to top it all off I'm not even sold on most of the designs.

I'm more interested in the Retro line and that's already a non-starter for me as a Wal Mart exclusive.

On top of all that as well, I've heard Pulse is going to start charging for membership.

Things aren't looking to hopeful for this Joe fan. I still haven't bought a single new figure. I want Snake Eyes and Destro but only at retail price not more.

Yeah but the line is in its infancy and its kinda turning out a disaster. I love the figures, but they're sorta proving to be a little incompetent to say the least, and I like to consider myself very understanding and generous giving patience.

I mean the line started trickling out early May but wasn't able to be considered "released" until now. Hasbro Pulse had 3 weeks of delays. I can forgive that with Covid and all really, but then you had NTWRK, and now this? Its like they want this to be a tremendous launch but aren't caring to try.

Nah, Cobra Island could have been a worse gatekeeper for collectors. Baroness and Trooper will be around in some other form without all the bonus stuff. I think the problem is covid made wave 1 and 2 move along much slower than they planned, so suddenly one of the retailers' usual white unicorn exclusives drops when people are still trying to get the basic figures in their hands.

I just want Hasbro to give a gameplan for what they're doing from here on out. There's been too many unexpected twists, including suddenly giving people two more Cobra Commander variants to think over.

Well, I wouldn't say the line is doomed, and granted I'm not foaming at the mouth. But I think serious problems are making themselves visible, and could harm the brand image while still in its infancy. I'd just say they need to be aware of it and hope they take note and course correct, like what they did with Regal CC. Otherwise this sorta has been a bumpy start with everything.

You know, the more I look at it I really prefer the gold Cobra Commander. It seems to highlight the pompous "everyone is a moron but me" attitude a bit more. If his colors are darker, I think he should have less royal garb, as I feel thats a more serious and scheming version of the character. Like Resolute, who wore a uniform but he didn't decorate himself.

I don't think so, every character is someone's favourite, and it could be for some reason like they relate to them on some level, including their sex. And it isn't necessary to genderbend the characters, just make new ones, or do like Doc and have it be his daughter so there are technically now 2 characters.

Cobra Commander doesn't wear armor with his officer's uniform. Plus the only armor on the Classified is the gauntlets which messes up the whole design. Its like he's wearing water wings or weights on his arms.

Ah true true, I'm thinking of doing that with Baroness as well depending on what the standard single release looks like.

I knew this would get autistic. Look the boots have an ornate style so its fine, the helmet doesn't count because they obviously are avoidng the KKK hood, and gauntlets arent practical. Ornate shoulder armor or elbow pads would be much better. Fucker looks like Popeye the Sailor with the oversized forearm look.

If it bothers you so much, you could buy a cheap Black Series First Order disguise Finn and swap the head and legs of the Classified onto that body and just paint the body to match and throw the belt on. Assuming the proportions are close enough, you'd get a much cleaner look and I doubt Hasbro is going to release a newly designed Cobra Commander within the next year (unless he appears in the Snake Eyes movie).

Given the amount of characters in G.I. Joe, and everyone has a favorite, the only way to make a G.I. Joe game could work, at least off the top of my head, is an XCOM style game where you take a team of Joes, and go on various missions against Cobra. The various Cobra characters can be something similar to the Chosen.

Only other way I can see a GI joe game working would just be a standard 3rd person shooter with a handful of character classes that the various Joes get put in, so like Assault, Stealth, Heavy Weapons etc.

The figures are Target exclusive (meaning even if you don't live near a Target, they shouldn't go more than $10-20 max over regular store price online).

Also, the triple digit prices are from people who managed to get their local Target to break street date (they aren't supposed to hit the sales floor until early August) and taking advantage of faggots who have to have them NOW as opposed to waiting until August, when the official release date happens and stores start putting them out in large number.

That said, I wouldn't wait too long. Baroness/Beachhead are super popular characters so a lot of people will be wanting them. And Cobra Trooper's going to get scalped to hell and back for troop building. Only the Roadblock figures' probably going to shelfwarm big, so I would be be prepared to spend a little extra unless you live near a Target and can snag them for retail.

Finally got my Joes in, and I'm completely in love with them. Scarlett is probably the weakest of the bunch so far with her over designed boots, limited elbows, and meh gear (I'm probably gonna ditch the bandolier entirely), but overall it's a super solid line of figures.

My one biggest wish for this line is that future figures have alternate hands for gripping rifles properly. Even if they don't come with realistic guns, a more open hand would be greatly appreciated, because these grips are too tight to stretch around most other gun barrels.

They should literally just make a G.I. Joe version of War for Cybertron. A third person cover shooter where you switch characters/factions as the story progresses with various large set piece fights and vehicle battles throughout the campaign. Top it off with a Create-a-Joe feature in a standard online pvp gamemode and throw in some damn co-op missions and you'd have a perfect Joe game. It don't have to be amazing, it don't have to be revolutionary. Just make a solid shooter with tons of lasers and throw a coat of Joe paint on it.

I find the Joes work really well with Marvel Legend figures, especially the MCU stuff, so it's a great source to add some background fodder or more enemies to fight until Classified fills out it's own ranks some more.

The way they did that Leia head sculpt was dirty. They put out a shitty looking one, and insisted they weren't going to fix it. Then like two months or three months later they announce 40th and that she has a fixed head in there after everyone already bought her figure, and that they always intended to repack in that wave. I think thats the problem. We'll definitely get these figures again, but these are as close to the classic look as we'll pobably ever get. 100% guarentee the general release baroness won't be in all black, or the cobra trooper won't be blue, or beach head will be cammo instead of green. Missing out on the first set of classic core characters can drive people who already didnt like the aesthetic that wave one had going.

I have three builds in mind
>Basic Trooper- Helmet no goggles no rank armband assault rifle
>Sharpshooter- Goggles no helmet no armband sniper rifle
>Squad Leader- Helmet with goggles overtop two armbands(hopefully doable) dual pistols
