Wave 1 was 5 figures. And the computer listings looked like Wave 2 was supposed to have Snake Eyes movie figures in it, but those are missing in action currently, since that movie's delayed in most countries and it's unclear if it gets pushed back in the US too. Flint's hat did come with Beach Head tho.

I don't recall a vehicle called a Coil. It kinda reminds me of the Venom Cycle from the Joe vs Cobra era, but that's just because that's the only real Cobra Motrocycle I can think of and it came in red. The Venom Cycle had a detachable side car that dudes could ride in.

Kapow Toys, In Demand Toys and Star Action Figures all ship internationally however SAF has stopped for the time being due to the virus.
Kapow and In Demand have all 3 waves so far + the retro line but I'm not sure what their stock levels are right now and when checked last night the Cobra Trooper was already out of stock on Kapow.

Or at the very least, give him new gear and guns. The figure itself isn't bad looking, but he's not a must have, and with barely any accessories, and a reused gun that wasn't great the first time around, he's even less of a priority. Hasbro shoulda went full dick-mode and packed him with a good ol' Ma Deuce and really watched as the internet raged. I know I would've fallen for that trick and just straight up swapped his guns with the V1 Classified Roadblock.

For me it would have helped if they had given him different/better accessories than some glasses and the same gun most people dislike. Or better yet, change the headsculpt, get rid of the tattoo, and turn him into Heavy Duty.

I had only just found out that they're replacing both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow actors a few days ago. I get why they have to but it wasn't until I heard the news that I found myself missing LBH in the role. Doesn't help that I've been seeing him in more serious roles recently and he's actually a really good actor. I'm kind of hoping he'd get some movie throwback figure in the 1/12 line alongside Retaliation CC.

The Lightspeed rangers should have a single gun and a V lancer. That’s it.

There's things that are ok about the Action Force figure, but I think the Hasbro figure is more aesthetically pleasing. Overall, it just looks more fun while Action Force is trying to be more realistic and the main interest for Action Force was purely because there was no 6 inch Joe line.

Hasbro was secrative about it. They let everyone go from G.I. Joe and every once in awhile there would be news about how they hired someone to work on the brand over the past 4 years. As to the news about them marketing and researching it in that time, the source is the Hasbro Pulse Fan Force Friday and the Fulll Force Podcast interview, where Lenny Panzica says so.

Ripcord was so low on the totem pole prior to RoC that I don't care that they changed his race. It's practically a different character now. The films have changed so much shit that the Roadblock being Samoan isn't even an issue. Stalker will more than likely get a Classified figure, but he's never been a featured character so why would they push him now? Roadblock being a big ass dude with a heavy machine gun provides contrast against Duke being the run-of-the-mill soldier, that's why he's featured

As far as Ripcord, I just don't like racebending, especially not when you already have an extremely diverse catalog of established characters to choose from.

This movie isn't even the same canon though, isn't it? They changed Storm Shadow's actor and racebent Snake Eyes last I read about it, I don't see the first two movies being related to the new one at all.

Again, I feel like the name "Stalker" is a hangup for mainstream appeal. We don't know yet though, Retaliation was already barely connected to RoC in terms of characters, Rock may make a cameo in Snake Eyes, he may not. I don't think they give a shit about continuity or canon. If they use him again, they could pull out Doc or Heavy Duty or fuckin Link Talbot I guess.

The reason they push Roadblock so much is because they're trying to keep the character archetypes from Sigma 6 around. Renegades just changed up Long Range for Ripcord, sort of, and Heavy Duty for Roadblock, since they basically made those two interchangeable depending on iteration. They both fill the 'big guy' archetype.

The real question I have is, why the fuck have they dropped Tunnelrat? He used to be in the main band. A pushed main character. Not in the movies, now not in Classified. Why do they hate our poor precious Nicky? He doesn't even have an amazing modern era figure.

While I don't hate Snake Eyes, I think he's the most overrated character and he's too superhero and Mary Sue like and side lines the rest of the team. Larry used him like a self-insert and often neglected other characters in favor of Snake Eyes, as if it was G.I. Joe starring Snake Eyes. I much prefer the cartoon continuity for it's treatment of characters, which while Snake Eyes is in the cartoon, he's barely in it in favor of exploring the rest of the team.

Bruce Timm worked on the Sunbow series also and did many of the designs. He worked on the episode wear Baroness wears her bikini.

Here's a Pythona model sheet. Sunbow worked with a Japanese studio on the movie, so the model sheets are in Japanese. Interestingly a lot of Western animators worked on the actual Sunbow cartoon, rather than being drawn overseas.

I feel like it's because they're re-popping some of the 50th 2-packs. Which leads me to believe that the character listed as "PUMA" is 50th Lady Jaye, only they're going to fix her figure, which had bad paint apps on her face. He's only had one modern sculpt for a convention in 2014, and the belt buckle there intentionally recaptures the white and red miscolor of the flag on the vintage figure. I think Hasbro has wanted to stay away from him for a long time.

I've had good experiences with face printing on Star Wars figures. The only negative with it, is Hasbro likes to use it instead of making a new sculpt and will try and use it to save a bad and outdated head sculpt.

She was in the Rise of Cobra Video Game, which was a decent game and had an action figure tie-in which was also popular, because it was the start of the Pursuit of Cobra line, which was intended to be a continuation of the Rise of Cobra line, before the designs were reworked into modern updates of the classic characters without being saddled with the RoC movie. Her character was attractive and it was nice to have another female added to the team, but her character was never in anything again for a long time. Then Hasbro started pushing for her to be included in some comics, and that's basically it.

Even in the phone game, he went from front and center in the GI Joe side of promotional art to removed.

An anon in a much older thread (when we thought this was the art style for the toyline) assumed he was there early on to entice Asian players who are a bigger chunk of the phone game freemium demographic, and honestly, that's probably the case.

Presumably they removed him because Snake Eyes is going to be Asian now and they don't need two token Asians, the same way they only need one Black guy named heavy duty roadblock.

You know it wouldn't be the freshest most groundbreaking game out there, but I'd actually be good with a GI Joe game thats just like Wildland or Breakpoint but with the Joes instead of the Ghosts. Just pick whatever Joe member you want to play as and then pick any other 3 you want for the rest of the team. Gameplay can function more or less the exact same, but each character has a specific load out they use. Not a set in stone specific weapon, but like Heavy Weapons characters get LMG's, Stealth get SMGs, etc.
