Like, in this photo, what are you trying to show us? Figure out what you want the viewer to focus on and build from there. Use the light, the angle, the focus, the position of the figures, and everything else to emphasize that central thing you want the viewer to see.
Then, as you figure that stuff out, you can add stuff like new lights (I just bought a lume cube and love it), a new camera, or better dioramas/backdrops.
