The hell, that's actually a Pop? It looks nothing like one, the eyes aren't round enough and the head isn't big or square enough. And Pops aren't supposed to come with any stands. What's going on here, is Funko trying to ditch the old design staples of the line? LOL, just how much does this piss off the collectors, I'd love to read some of their rage posts about it.

They probably sacrifice profits in the beginning to make sure they could get as many licenses as possible, I don't know what little shit figures came first but they probably went for obscure shit in the beginning because those probably has cheap licenses also. Now that they are big enough they probably get good deals on licenses for what ever they want so it paid off in the end. That's only my guess tho.

They're cheap enough that you can collect them in waves, depending on what you're into, and small enough that you can have fifty to a hundred of them and not run out of space to put them. There's also the appeal of having one that winds up being worth 10X what you paid for it.
Not to mention they're kind of cool in an odd way.

The standard box is 4.5'' x 3.5"" x 6.2''. I don't know how much the figures vary in size but the only one I have is 4 inches tall. And no, I didn't buy it, it was a gift.

They cover absolutely everything under the sun and they're incredibly easy to find, so they're appealing to casual fans of things who just want some cheap item that reflects what they like (and, if the person likes a lot of properties made into Pops, conveniently match each other stylistically). A lot of people on /toy/ forget that most Pop buyers aren't toy collectors.
