Based on their TMNT line and Prince John right out the gate, Super7 likes to do a few obvious choices and then an offbeat wild card.

So, if they're going to take a shot at Gargoyles, I hope they start with something weird like Steel Clan Xanatos, or go batshit crazy and work on a character... pack.

Yeah, it's a figure by killerbootlegs, one of the artists who got me into toymaking. It's cool because there are blurbs on the back of this series of figures that tell a very unique sort of science-fantasy story, just a bit of window dressing for cool-looking figures. This fig and the Phantom Starkiller figs have retractable lightsabers like old kenner Star Wars figures, which is neat.

When he finally takes off the mask (spoilers) it turns out that Coyote is a criminally insane robot clone of Xanatos who was acting for his own interests (or was he?)

Coyote actually has four versions since he keeps upgrading his robot body after being destroyed, so you probably don't recognize him because of that.

Also, realistically, the most I'll see out of this team is pic related as decapitated accessory for another toy.

I think if anyone were to do a Gargolyes line, even though I hate super7, they'd probably be the best fit for the job. The look would be on-point, it wouldn't be $80-100 per figure, and the articulation would be at least as mediocre as any other domestic company

I know it doesn't go along with Sorcerer Mickey, but Id be pretty stoked if they put out a Phantom Blot. Maybe an Oswald to go along with him? I think the line has a great deal of potential. Though this first wave is all over the place, not in terms of quality, but in terms of character selection.

The ones I got were I think $16 a piece, and I have always had an attraction to science fantasy (a genre that is rarely used) as well as toys/characters with very loose "lore" about them. They just capture my imagination and inspire me in my own toy design endeavors. The other one >>8336339 here is made of vinyl I think and vinyl stuff is almost always really expensive, and the fact it was made by an independent artist without the benefit of a chinese factory is gonna raise the price too. Vinyl stuff isn't my thing for a number of reasons, but mainly the price. The ReAction figures are more appealing to me because they're cheaper and more toyetic.

Hell, I hope they take a crack at this to dunk on lady deathstrike / marvel legends toys.

Not trying to console wars, but if super7 figures out how to do gargoyle wings or extendo-robo parts, that can only be a positive for all licensees who can compete to show off as they take a shot at other weird or hard characters.

Granted, I'm sure they'd just end up being less articulated arm and leg swaps, but still.
