As a first time collector of MOTU these are so fun. I love the vibrant colors.

These have been such a wonderful treat for me. I had much of the old MOTU line but sold them all about 10 years ago to pay bills and have regretted it ever since. I don't expect the Origins line to revisit every single character and vehicle from the original series but I would love to see it run for at least another wave or 2.

Does Primal Age stuff belong here?
Because Amazon UK has been restocking stuff recently, namely the beasts, and yesterday I noticed the Batcave listing change since it was on my wishlist.
Previously it was like 60 - 70 because of other sellers but it was up for 13.99 yesterday from amazon themselves, idk how long it was like that, I only noticed yesterday but it's back to normal now.
I managed to order one but it was "temporarily out of stock" with the restock date pending.
What are the chances I will actually get this?

Went to 6 Wal-Marts in the big city and here was what I could find. I found He-man in a bunch of boxes that were on the floor but hadn't been put up yet. There was 4 He-Mans to a box with no other MOTU figures. On my next stop I found a single Battlecat and I talked to the stocker who was just putting stuff up. He told me that the other MOTU stuff dissapeared within 10 minutes that morning of him putting it up. My last stop was where I found the sky sled and a full case of Battle Cats. Also, each store that had new MOTU also had a fresh stock of WWEternia figures. Coincidence?

I didn't get everything, but I'm satisfied with what I got for now. I notice that you can make the sky sled for good or bad guys by changing the head and side decos. Now what am I going to do with an extra Prince Adam?

There was no reason to have Adam packaged with a modular vehicle like that. The included figure should have been a moustache-less Man-At-Arms as a generic Eternian guard or something.

My best guess is that Mattel is second guessing that kids won't buy a "faggy" character like Prince Adam, but they have to make him for muh nostalgia, so that's why they included him with the sled.

Maybe I'll get a WWE figure to make two OC characters out of the spare Adam.

The Jumanji Jaguar is hitting even lower clearance at Walmart. I’m making a custom Panthor to hold me over until the official releases in the fall. It doesn’t scale super well if skeletor rides it, but it looks adequate standing next to him. Can’t complain too much for $2.50

I hit a few Wal-Mart's yesterday. Scored He-man at one and Skeletor at another. No traces of any other figures...although gf searched inventory online and one wal mart was showing man e faces.

Did all wally world's get the full load or just he man's and Skeletor? Because their online inventory at the stores we went is showing that only those two were ever in stock.

Also found a few battle cats but no sky sleds.

Scare glow isnt out yet, is he? He's probably an intentional chase though. I don't know why, but manufacturers love doing this shit with certain figures that are well loved by fans but lesser known to passers by.

Evil Lyn IMO is a chase by circumstance. Shes a female figure...which are often a harder sell. So they lower production numbers and figures in a case count to avoid a peg warmer... but never produce quite enough to meet demand.

Thanks a lot Mattel.lol Why are they making them trickle out so slow like this? They're clearly the most in demand Mega Construx. Why aren't they being pimped as hard as Halo? Origins already has 14 figures(counting exclusives), plus 4 more for wave 2, and whatever they reveal for wave 3 tomorrow, along with a vehicle and both Battle Cat and Panthor.

Nah, at least not entirely. The Skeletor set was confirmed to have been an exclusive that they cancelled due to no conventions taking place because of Covid.

The only thing that's really changed is how many figures we get per wave- 6 for wave 1, then 4 in wave 2. A wave 3 Mer-Man also seems highly likely since he's in Lords of Power and one of the more famous villains. A number of exiting parts were also already made in the Masters of the WWE Universe line that would seem to coincide with many of the named characters on this list. So this list still seems pretty viable at least on what figures are coming, just not on the wave break-downs.

They said those were coming in Spring and that more stuff was planned for fall of 2021, over a year from now... It was such non-answer bullshit, that made you sort of wonder why they even bothered having a panel if they're not gonna say what they're putting out. The prototypes were the best part, but they cautioned about them not for sure being figures we'd get soon, or that some might not happen, or not happen for a long time.

These are just the prototypes. There was a different photo of them that they showed off at the panel, and they had physical prototypes that they held up on camera and showed us. The He-Man has black eyebrows on the final one. And the sculpt on Skeletor is really nice on the one they were showing in the video.

When the sky sled got announced I remember thinking what a missed opportunity it was for them to include wundarr in this first wave. Unless they redesign Adam, no one is going to want him even if he does come with a vehicle. I've checked 7 different Walmarts periodically over the past 2 weeks and they all look more or less like this, and it's difficult to tell if they ever got any in. I have occasionally seen some Battle Cats, indicating that Motu was there, but no figures except on one occasion.

By far my most anticipated reveal. Any guesses for which characters these will be? He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, and Lyn are a given, and Moss Man was shown and even a bit of his design, but what about the rest of the 3? Surely MAA will be there too. Definitely looking forward to these and more, perhaps from other parts of the franchise. We could possibly get 200x that actually have a similar aesthetic to the show, based on these silhouettes.

Looks like the 4 on the left are Heroic and 4 on the right are Evil.

He-Man, Moss Man (note the feet), MAA, and Teela.

Skeletor (if he decides to wear a cape, also seems like a hood), Lyn (looks like her head was cropped?), maybe Clawful (with the pants? Great bulk though), and I'm really not sure on this last one. It looks like a really normal body with no real defining features, standard fur boots, nothing noticable on the arms or head.

Might explain the Bad Ending he got in Classics (all info gleaned from unreleased bio cards posted on the Org). In a nutshell: he became leader of the new Eternian Council of Elders, but his homeworld and people were obliterated by Snake Men (more recently, it was revealed that the Horde had also been trying to invade Trolla for centuries). Dree Elle somehow made it back to Eternia, but no details as to how she did it. To date, Orko is the only member of the core Heroic Warriors left with no children. I'm not optimistic at this point, as those bios dry up in November.

Don't worry. You can just pre-order the whole wave/case from BBTS. They'll have individuals of all the other ones in it up, but not Scareglow. At least that's always been the impression I get whenever there's a sought after figure in a wave.

Nice way to squeeze out an extra $5 per figure. The $15 price point makes these very appealing an extra $5 isn't going to break the bank but it's kind of bullshit considering how many of the original figures have gimmicks.

What do you guys speculate? That we'll get neutered versions of most figures or most if the line will end up being deemed deluxe?

I really hope they give Mosquitor the blood pumping gimmick... but not holding my breath. He was always one of my favorites.

I'm just surprised they went full gimmick with the Battle Armor variants instead of just including the armor with swappable pieces like on the Macho Man figure.
With Mosquitor, I think they'llmore simulate it or it'll be in a much smaller symbol, like the Battle Armor ones, to keep room for the arms to peg in.
I'm just glad that my boy Stinkor most likely won't need to be a deluxe. I really hope Webstor doesn't turn out to be the case.

I have to imagine that they'll eventually get to him especially since he can have so many repaints, but with only 4 figures per wave I think the way things are going now is ok. If the line continues to do well I would like to see some VS 2-packs, perhaps with variants, fun accessories, all that kind of stuff.

If they can also hit that price point that sounds really good, but I hope that paint and sculpt aren't compromised as a result. Depending on when Revelations comes out, that may coincide with the release of the Masterverse figures. For the rest, what's come out is kind of like a teaser, I guess, but the MotU show (not different from Revelations and more aimed at kids) will also be coming out at some point maybe soon (no date here either I don't think)?

Because kids haven't cared about MOTU since the late 80s.

Everything related to this franchise for years has been nothing but nostalgia fuel aimed at adult neets and capitalized on by scalpers.

MOTU merch is always more limited than most franchises because there's no mass appeal, no popular tie ins, no real attempts to market to kids... No point in taking it to scale. It's an effectivley dead franchise that's been kept on life support by a select few who buy everything.

If they produced MOTU stuff at Legends levels, they'd be warming pegs, going on clearance... So they've intentionally limited supply to ensure they will always move what they've got.

Until a proper reboot/revival movie, TV Show actually releases, and then only if it succeeds with enough mass appeal to scale it... will we ever see an end to this shit.

When's the last time you've seen a MOTU Tee shirt at a major retailer? Unlike Marvel who can pitch lesser known characters and franchises due to their relation to more well known properties... MOTU as a whole has been dead to every one except us and the org fags.

I really liked the show. I'm hoping that if Masterverse does well we can get 200X designs (which kind of have a similar look, based on the silhouettes). I'd love to have any designs from the show, and long ponytail Teela would be a great one among others to get. Would also love a hulking Rattlor and Clawful among many others.

The org ones are assholes though. I'm 19 and my first interaction with motu was the 2002 series which I stumbled upon on youtube. This franchise started to grow on me and I would love to buy some Origins but fuck Mattel for not releasing these in Europe.

Org guys seem like real outdated old timers who just want their collection to be figures standing in a neutral pose. I remember they were complaining about Origins having too much articulation, and that they should just reissue the originals (again). And now with Masterverse some of them are saying 30+ POA is too much and will look ugly, saying no to butterfly joints, etc. These sound like the kinds of toys kids from the 80s would dream about, that could (hopefully) achieve all the poses that they could on the show. They can think what they want, I'm incredibly excited for this line.

I find that the swivels in the elbow mostly get the job done, but something extra in the torso would have been nice. Maybe a ball and socket as a hip joint would have worked and could have possibly given it a bit of extra range. Just a swivel leaves them a bit monotone, but the head gets a lot of range, so that's something.

Yeah, the hips are my biggest gripe. The peg setup they have would have worked better with differently shaped crotches. As it stands, a regular ball joint would have probably fared better.
