I'd love to hold off and wait for proper shelves and stuff but at the sametime a lot of major things I have always wanted would be absolutely a nightmare to get if I don't snatch them up. My family doesn't understand it, I tried to explain to them that I can just buy NECA TMNT figures later on when I can actually afford them. I need to jump on it ASAP or I'd be stuck spending even more money on it.
I don't see the problem what you're doing. I don't know what all you have but I do like One Piece so I think it's cool if you're trying to get all the characters.
Another problem I have is that I like way way too many series. So I am trying to get certain characters from a series first and then move on to the next one. I also have to buy from companies such as banpresto because there's no fucking way i can spend hundreds of dollars on a single statue. It'd take me eons to complete my collection or even something tangible.
I also have a thing for perfetionism and procrastination because I don't like the idea of doing something shotty and then people just hating on me such as "Why didn't you get (this certain shelf)"? "Why did you get this figure and not the one from a different company?" It's just highly stressful.
