I was in Tokyo in march and had planned a very large portion of my trip around Disney and then they closed the parks which sucked ass. I bought her in Akihabara which was cool.

The mickey with the face mask I bought in Thailand shortly after and it seemed very fitting given the situation.

Ice Age, Rio, Avatar and Planet of the Apes were chosen by Disney to be featured into their Disney line-up and not Fox. What does this mean? Future products such as toys and merchandise from them will feature the Disney logo like Star Wars does now. So yeah, when you will buy a new Avatar toy you will see the Disney logo on the packaging, sorry if it bothers you. Disney will also focus on Planet of the Apes trilogy from 2010s and they might ignore the other films other than the original which will be used for merch. Next PotA film which might be a remake of the original set in the reboot continuity is in the works at Disney, Avatar sequels too. Two animated spin offs in the works for Disney plus, one is based on Buck from ice age and the other on Rio.

Sometimes, depending on the figure. I get characters I want, rather than trying to complete a line.

Someone like Cap or Luke came out good in the art style, but Boba Fett (for example) seems a bit too scrawny, even though they could have tweaked the design. Venom is huge and chunky and pretty fun, but like Stitch, as much as I enjoy him, has balance issues because his head weighs a ton. The incredibles were a bit disappointing too - they should have looked amazing in the art style considering their movie is pretty much there, but they were made even more exaggerated so the giant head / tiny body thing really hurts characters like Elasti-girl.

I'm still holding out hope on getting ewoks and other non-marvel/star wars characters, but the releases seem to have slowed down.

Dollars to donuts it's something wrong at the site. Even websites that were reporting the new Hocus Pocus merchandise the morning of the release noted that Mary and Winifred were up, but not Sarah. I only found one website with the Sarah listing. Most people are going to buy these plushes as a trio set, so Sarah being sold out within hours at minimum while the others are still up 3 days later is strange.

I think at this point the lack of "doll dolls" is because the "live action doll line" has been dumped except for the 17" LE ones. Thanks to whatever fuckup designer did the Emma Watson BATB dolls that went viral.
