I have a weird sense of admiration for you for keeping that as your Grimlock despite how many better ones have come out since.

The dino mode is very interesting and a good figure taken on its own, but it's got one of the most flawed bot modes I can think of.

Panel lining is simple. Just take your Gundam marker or Sakura marker or whatever, run it along a line, use a q-tip to wipe away the excess ink. That's it.

If you're just doing it with a fine line pen you can't really fuck it up since you can wipe mistakes off easily. It is a pain in the ass though and you can't just quit halfway.

...nearly every single one? A lot of them weren't perfect, or even great, as a whole, but come on, this is NOT a high bar to hop over. Look at it, it's a mess. The forearms and thighs are like 1/4" long, the feet are gigantic and visible behind the arms, there are tons of screwholes on the front of the toy, the big unpainted hinges on the chest make it look stupid narrow, the mouth-feet are stupid and look horrible, the tail-weapon is dumb as hell and feels like they just didn't have anywhere for it to go in the transformation...I could go on all day. It's a very, very poorly done robot whose only saving grace is its pretty neat dino mode.

I am not trying to make the case that any Grimlock is flawless. Even my favorite, MP Grimlock, has its issues. What I AM saying is that despite their flaws, I can't think of a single one off the top of my head that fucks up as many times, or as badly, as Classics Grimlock. Proportions and design are horrible, it can barely pose, it's mostly comprised of very dull flat grey plastic with an ugly wash inexplicably only applied to one part of its body.

Other Grimlocks have problems. This is a trainwreck.

POTP and FOC are far worse from a build quality aspect (the most inportant part of a toy). No kid is going to give a shit about proportions since they've probably never even heard of a grimlock before. Classics Grimlock is shit but nowhere near as bad as the two that would succede especially considering both fucked up the mode he spent the most time in

Haven't bought a figure in 20 years. Got Impactor. Holy crap he is more fun than any BW fig I ever had. So satisfying to transform and I live the colors. Would have been my favorite guy as a kid.

A few months ago, back when Impactor was still in stores, I remember thinking that he'd be a great introduction to anyone picking up transformers for the first time. He's big for a deluxe, colorful, has good articulation, fits well as either a good guy or a bad guy, and is generally pretty sturdy.

As promised.
My LG Hot Rod I ordered in March finally arrived from Japan this week (I was afraid it was lost) so now my Autobot Earth crew is done (or well, this is the initial group).
For whatever reason I wanted to do the squad picture in their alt modes since I really felt like transforming them.
Vehicle scale is bit off, mainly Drift and Bee I think but I like this team a lot.
I would take a picture of my Decepticon Earth team but I'm waiting on a certain Targetmaster to arrive.

Not modified, he just looks that good.
Instead of just storing the weapons on the top I folded out the leg hinge and put the launcher in the hole, I got the mode from this image.

I've had issues trying to make it work, the only pieces that make the blue towers would be the legs, but they don't stick together(I need a 5mm peg to peg to stick the feet together)

You can sort of make it work by sticking the floor panel onto the side leg peg, but it's not super stable.

He's pretty great, but yeah, I guess if you've already got the mold thrice over, there's not much point, given his price now. I had no real interest in the mold until the G2 Megs version, and it was honestly the "Megatron Rules" sticker that tipped me over the edge, but I'm glad it did because it's a really great mold. Probably my favorite triple changer after Generations Sandstorm. Each mode has just the right amount of compromise, and the transformation between any two of them is always simple and fun. And the headmaster gimmick makes the two vehicle modes feel that much more complete; I love how snugly he fits into the little jet cockpit.

Sometimes I like to think about Transformers toys outside of the context of Transformers. Like, if someone just dropped this badass, purple jet-tank-bot with a little head-pilot in my lap, how could I not think it was the coolest toy ever?

Not to mention aside from the Megatron Rules! sticker, it had none of that shitty TR stickers that were shitty quality and badly applied. The whole toy was molded with some bits painted. Deco wise it is superior. Legends was a blessed line to save the TR toys from shitty stickers and less paint apps.

My main issue is the fact that they didn't just make it a new mold for Kingdom and instead gave us yet another repaint from this mediocre mold. Seriously, you don't just do something like this to a design as iconic as G2 Megatron. Even the Bludgeon retool looks better than this beacuse at least they tried to make him look like an imposing war general.

They're pretty neat, better articulated than Minicons were but a bit less interesting overall. All the car ones are noticably mostly the same transformation wise so you might only want to get one pack of them (I recommend the Hot Rod Patrol) and they have the most nothing weapon modes. Miltary themed ones easily rate the highest but only Battle Patrol, Airstike Patrol and Battle Squad have weapon modes worth bothering with. The cassets are cute but aren't that great without Soundwave, On the other hand if you have soundwave I'd say they're essential.

I don't have Greasepit yet so I'm using Ironworks. Id use the gas station sign as the radar on top. It isn't great but it seems to suggest the old battle station and looks different from Ironworks station

As for why the difference in attraction? Partially due to naivety preferring good guys and partially due to level of comfort- they see cars and trucks every day, so they want their relaxation toys to mirror what they have experienced.

I was going through old toys after a move and found this guy. I dont know why but I love him so much. Maybe its because it combines Beast Machines and Beast Wars which were a huge part of my childhood? The purple just looks cool. I have no idea who else to display him with though because it's such a bizarre color scheme and mold choice. (Sadly it's my only fuzor.) Anyone have any ideas?

I'd agree with this, except that Stakeout is easily my favorite of all the micromasters. Roadhandler is pretty solid, too, except he lacks ball joint knees and a neck. Shame both of their partners kind of suck.

Studio Series 86 will feature:

Target has Kingdom in its computer systems too. Not the complete run, but so far:

>16 Deluxe (3 Fossilizers, Cheetor, Airazor, Warpath + 10 more not named) Blackarachnia and Scorponok seen by someone else. Probably among the unlisted. No word on Terrorsaur, Inferno or Waspinator. Yet.

So, did a mockup of my Nautica concept. Gonna have to completely replace the neck/head portion to accommodate the canopy, but everything else just pegs into 5 mm ports
My question is, is it enough? Will she really look enough like Nautica to matter? I wanted to get opinions before I start modeling. Not sure if it's worth 3d modeling it, cause I dunno who would want it.

Wait, what? If the ER version is getting rereleased in Kingdom, then is this a different mold? Also, SS86 going to be more than one wave? I'm wondering if we'll see an Earth mode Ultra Magnus.
