Calm down it’s barely been a few hours into pre-order. One girl per case is the way to go if you don't want the line to halt.

A reminder to Bandai's line. Ninja Storm Blue was one per case. She was everywhere long after. They thought Kimberly the most popular girl would sell 2 per case. Kimberly was all that was left on the pegs.

For those that say 2 different girls per wave. That won’t work either. That same wave with Kimberly had Ashley. So 2 girls in that wave and Ashley outlasted everyone on the pegs until the line died.

The following wave had more figures but one of the case assortments was 4 MMPR Whites, 2 MMPR Yellow. Remember all those MMPR Yellow’s on the pegs?

That’s when they pulled the buy the girls or we can’t release more figures. That’s because retailers weren’t ordering more figures until they got rid of their current stock which was all girls.

The girls aren’t hard to find in the long run. If you miss them in store you might not be the first to own them but they eventually restock online. Look recently at Ranger Slayer, Kimberly, Trini. You just need to check back every now and then.

No need to panic over Ashley being sold out they'll be plenty of her. Most collectors will pick up one girl. Casual fans will not care to complete the teams let alone pick up the girls. 1 girl per case is enough to keep the line moving.

It was a combination of a lot of things. Bandai Japan was still very insular and Bluefin was barely starting to get some influence with them. Sentai Figuarts timing missed the boat with a lot of events happening with Power Rangers at the time. Bandai America attempted to import them first and fucked up distribution. A lot of releases were exclusives and those didn't seem to get cleared for US releases until 2014 or so. The one time they tried a complete team pack was with the team nearly everyone had already bought before and with barely any interest from casuals since it wasn't MMPR. The fact that Bandai America and Saban wanted royalties also caused US releases to have higher MSRP than Japan. To top it all off, they held multiple surveys to see what US fans wanted, teased some US only releases like Lord Zedd, and pushed hard to get Zeo at the very least only for Bandai Japan to give up after Akibaranger 2 bombed and then tried with boomer are 70s Sentai releases that also bombed hard.

I don't think any other Figuarts line has ever been as mishandled as Sentai/Rangers were and saddest part was they could have definitely sustained it for years if they had the resources they have now.

Removing the original Akiba Blue due to some shitty thing in her contract. Teasing and showing off Figuarts for Malshina and Z-Cune Aoi but never releasing them, yet we got Delu Knight and the generic mooks though at least the latter is good for headswaps. The S2 Figuarts for yellow and blue not being distinct enough from their original S1 Figuarts.

Itasha Robo was awesome though.

For every good figure like the Psychos, or most of MMPR, we get something missing, like Omega Ranger, or Shadow Ranger, or Dino Thunder White.

The new one has much better coloring, but they should have done more to make it stand out. A different face may have actually pushed me to get it.

I don't know how likely it is, but if they just did a wave of only monsters I'd probably get them all.

I think Lightning Collection is the wrong place for monsters of the day. A basic $10 line would be better suited for them IMO. They don't need full LC tier articulation as even in the show they aren't the most agile things, and people would be more inclined to drop $10 on a MOTD than $20. I think the original MMPR monsters hold up remarkably despite their limited articulation, and they'd work beautifully with the LC figures if they were in the same scale.

I used it on my Blue to squeeze the sides and make it look less bulbous, then stuck it in the freezer until the plastic hardened in place. Someone else posted that they did the opposite to the Red helmet, squeezing the front to back in order to widen it.

Because Hasbro claimed their figures would be the most show-authentic Power Rangers figures EVER, and they are not even close. Why wouldn't figuarts count? That'd be like a new car company claiming they're gonna make the fastest cars EVER, but not counting cars made in Europe.

But what's ultimately the really embarassing part is that we don't even have to look to figuarts to see more show authentic Power Ranger figures. Hasbro may not have the overly defined musculature of Bandai's figures, but their body sculpts are far from show accurate in their own ways. In fact their own basic $10 figures are more accurate to what Power Rangers actually look like than the LC. And as far as deco and helmet sculpts are concerned they fail to even surpass many of Bandai's cheap figures. So Hasbro is doing a really terrible job of fulfilling theie claim.

Dude, I don’t know what mental hoops you jumped through when you first saw that jpeg from toy fair, but Hasbro was never going to make Rangers that could compete with figures at a higher price point. Honda might make a commercial that says they’re making the safest car ever, but it’s not safer than some experimental car some scientists at NASA whipped up that covers you in ballistic foam when you crash. That’s what companies do, they hype stuff up. Hasbro genuinely could never make “the best rangers ever” at a $20 price point so despite the dozens of mistakes in the line so far, that’s on you for expecting them to be import quality. Even as a kindergartner I could recognize the theme with the helmets was to match the number of angles/shapes with the ranger number(5 pointed star-Ranger 5)

The theme of the powers themselves was ancient world mythology/architecture, but I guess Bandai America didn’t think a Moai head or Jomon figure would be appealing as ranger powers.

Standard Figuarts were around 35 USD upon release. If all it took for Hasbro to put out better figures was an additional $15 cost I'd be happy to pay for it. But I'm sure they'd still have tons of problems with quality. SPD Red's helmet problem for example is not a monetary one but a clear design one, as are most of the problems with line.

They'll be able to milk MMPR for quite some time. I could see them re-releasing Red, Black and Yellow with the second roster alt heads. You also get things like Metallic Armor, Ninja costumes, 1995 Movie, 2017 Movie, plus all the tertiary characters, and then of course the eventual re-releases with corrected helmet sculpts or something like that. They'll be able to keep milking MMPR while drip-feeding non-MMPR fans something every now and then. You know you'll never see a Megazord like the Zeo one they're doing for non popular season like Lightspeed Rescue, Mystic Force, or even Ninja Storm.

We'll get the red Anubis Kruger, Alpha 1, Finster-5, the witchy Scorpina from Soul of the Dragon, the Coinless World Scorpina from the Ranger Slayer one-shot, regular Scorpina (unless she's forgotten like how they forgot her in the TV series lol), the Black Dragon, the Ranger Sentries, the Omega Rangers, the Solar Rangers, the Morphin Masters (some kinda half-and-half ranger I guess?), the all-Green MMPR team, the Jason-as-Yellow, Trini-as-Red palette swaps

Could use a more generic themed Showa Sentai and make the American theme be retro VHS or time travel. Like either the rangers take down old movie monsters in VHS worlds, or travel back in time and the fight footage in-universe is explained as old footage being taken in the past.

Kids age out of Power Rangers, so why not do a higher-budget series for teens and older? (with fewer episodes, perhaps, like a 10-ep, 60 min runtime per ep Netflix run)

Adapting some of those unused shows could be the way to go to retain their audience for a few more years.

If you're using new footage, no reason to use old Japanese designs at all. My biggest fear of US original Rangers though is losing all the Japanese design sensibilities

Unlike a lot of others I actually liked the idea of using Pre-Zyu teams and was excited for it, but man did they screw up the excecution. Watching this reminded me how disappointed I was in Super Megaforce as a whole.

There's a place in my local mall that charges scalper prices on figures that are hard to find, or ones that are exclusives that they then go around town scrounging up. I was there yesterday and they wanted $40 for Dino Charge Black and $40 for Dragon Shield Black.

The owner of the store doesn't charge tax on cash transactions though. Is there a way I can report him? I hate scalpers so fucking much.

Not him but I'm an AZfag and we have several stores like that around Phoenix. A lot of comic shops did this too, but I was cool with the people at my old LCS and they would order stuff for me and then let me buy it using my box holder discount. They would just be sure to put a sticky note with my weekly comics saying what toys/statues I had and they'd ring everything up and discount the whole transaction by 20%. They did discount tiers based on the number of comics on your pull list and I was one of the top buyers at the store before they closed due to mishandling by new owners. I did end up with some free shit during the close out since the employees were all pissed at the new management and were giving stuff away for free to their more loyal customers. Man, I miss that place.
