Seems like no one in this thread collects B2Five anymore? Myself included.

Beaver FINALLY came out but I can't be bothered to buy it at this point. I think part of that is because it reuses Stronghold's waist/legs, it just feels like too little too late after waiting so long.

I think the lack of releases for 18 months (Stealth Laurel and pandemic notwithstanding), and the fact that b2Five is the least modular of the lines discussed here are the main causes of the lack of popularity. I'm used to long wait times from acid rain stuff, but I think the demo that b2Five is meant for is not.

I'm feeling very underwhelmed by most of B2Five. If the price were lower I'd be all over it. Also, I don't really care for the proportions of the minifigs, so I usually just toss them aside and use the vehicles with Mega or something at a similar scale.

At this point what I really want from them are more Laurels. The B2Five Laurel is an absolute joy, it feels much nicer than my full-size ones and is a cute desk companion.

Google "taobao agent + [your country]". A lot more people use it to buy cheap chinese stuff other than toys so chances are someone else in your region has already explored it.

Taobao themselves offer official consolidation+forwarding to a handful of countries (USA, CAN, AUS, MY, SG, TW, JP, etc.). It's the cheapest shipping you'll get but its no-frills service is hard to use if you can't read Chinese.

It really depends on the logistics between your country and china, that overseas markup might end up costing the same as using Taobao+forwarding fees. Most of the forwarding services available charge by 1st kg basis, so if you don't have anything else to consolidate it's possible for that to happen. You've got to do the maths basically.

I’m back on a Diaclone kick—Tridigger arrived today, Trirambler should be here on Saturday, and I took a few other figures out of storage to mess with. I love Diaclone but I’m gonna dump some thoughts about how I think it could be more systematic/modular:
- Dia/Cosmo Battles’ backpack isn’t quite the right shape to attach to Battle Buffalo as securely as you’d expect
- Battle Buffalo’s thighs are too blocky to accept Dia Battles’ legs even though the connection is compatible
- Other instances of parts that can’t be swapped because the sculpt gets in the way
- The Trivers figures should have had the same shoulder and thigh connections as Battles/BB so you could swap arms and legs between any of them
- The cockpit cavity in Big Powered’s claw-tank vehicle (the one with its crotch+thighs) should have been compatible with the Trivers bullet cores

I know the Verse Risers help bridge some of the systems, but I wish it was a little more wholistic from the beginning. I do appreciate that they keep introducing new ideas though.

If its very slow, then I suggest getting into contact with the store. I once had a package sit there for two weeks before I contacted them and then it arrived in a few days. I think they either forgot it at the warehouse or maybe they called someone in the post office and complained to them. Either way, it fixed things.

Are these monstrosities all by the same guy? They're impressive by sheer amount of components and from a monetary standpoint, but I do prefer the smaller, colour coordinated combos.

There were a few sets; the first was Monkey King themed and was three robots that combined into one 12 inch robot. Second one was samurai themed, third was “Ordin”, a mix of animals like an owl and celocanth, came in two flavors: white/good and black & purple/evil. After that it petered off into some purely construction sets that were a mix of random previously released parts in garish colors mixed with parts that could become vehicles and small bots, then Megahouse gave up on it.

backed out of ordering Soldier Ant... I couldn't justify the price. I bought a solo expansion to a tabletop game I play instead, as I am guaranteed to get hours and hours of enjoyment out of it. Still feels bad man, I just can't afford to break into the modular robot scene.

No big. It was hard for me to take the initial plunge too, they are expensive. If you ever feel like trying to get into this modular robot stuff again there are cheaper alternatives becoming available, like 30MM and Rihio Multiabyss.

It's still rather pricey though (and I say that as someone who owns a few and loves the line). It's cool as hell and I love the aesthetic, but if you were really pinching pennies, you'd probably get more bang for your buck out of one of the more modular Hexa Gear vehicles, or 30MM with some addon kits.

It's somewhat unlikely that's the real shipping fee, but then again, I wouldn't be entirely surprised. Mandarake was quoting me some absolutely bananas DHL prices recently.

Shipping them from ShowZ was incredibly cheap ($6) so I think that's clearly the superior choice. I mean, the prices aren't even that different at ShowZ, $70 vs. $64 at Amiami. I think you're still gonna come out on top once shipping is figured in.

I think the absolute minimum you will pay to ship DHL (ie the only way to ship right now) is something like 20-25 bucks. And thats the baseline. It only rapidly goes up from there.

Like the others said, get the KOs, they're really not bad for the most part. And once you get a power suit in hand, you might understand why it's so pricey. They're tiny, barely bigger than a Mega Construx figure, but they pack more engineering into that tiny little shell than I think I've ever seen before. The absurd amount of poseability, opening hatches, sliding hip assembly, the fact that they can compress into a "throne" for docking and putting into their little shipping containers...it's a ton of playability in an absolutely minuscule package.

Okay, I have two main questions that have been burning a hole in my brain:

2. The chest armor is just made up of two pieces, a gray piece ending in a ball joint which connects to the chest and the actual armor plate itself.

I think I prefer the flame ant. They're both nice in their own way. In terms of coordinating with the older figures I don't think either is going to really fit. The soldier ant will definitely be more coherent, but he's still black and orange has his majority colors not the gray the original uses. It'll go together but it won't be seamless. It'll work all right with the Ronin though.

Here's the teaser for the Astrobot-like (I say this because though it uses the base mold of the Astrobots it isn't one, and in fact it's a 1/18 figure, so by that logic he'd be a real big character) figure and the robot in the middle. Besides Astrobot, sniper lady and spear man are the ones most calling out to me. Shield man looks interesting, but I'm at this point less interested. Also, am I just being dumb, or is this sorta an Optimus Prime thing? I mean, I know Prime's Japanese name is Convoy and his mold originally came from Diaclone, so is this meant to be an evolution of that original mold? His faceplate and color separation and trailer sorta suggest it.

Its cool to have dia battles get some company in the short kings club. You would think they would move away from the car robo line and leave that to transformers and do its own thing but with the doubling down on g1 products I guess its natural for diaclone to reimagine battle convoy. This feels reminiscent to the unicron trilogy period when we got more unique convoy designs that's been missing since the 2010s with the push to g1. Also it seems >>8372572 got what you asked for with vmax having an arm connection as well as being a triver.

Not exactly like him, but yeah. I get trying to make it fit with the new style, but it just feels too different. The chest is the biggest offender. It didn't need to mimic the originals square windows and grill, but simply using dome (similar to the one the trailer uses) you'd at least get the same effect, but they used those modular cockpits for it and it just looks bad. The chest basically fucked everything. The trailer is better, but I'll have to see more about those accessories before I judge it. Head isn't great either, the face is just way too small for that huge head.

I'm getting Battle Convoy, but I'm also pretty disappointed with it. It feels like a simplified and smaller Big Powered with a trailer. The legs also feel like a gimped version of Battle Buffalo's, too. They could have done something more with this, or something more unique.

My ronin showed up last week and I have mixed feelings. Very weird joint setup that limits articulation, and the peg/slot system is sometimes super tight and sometimes floppy and prone to falling apart.

Cool aesthetics, but likely the last product of theirs I'll buy.

I wasn't sure about getting this since I didn't want to deal with the headache of the shipping price and the customs I would have to pay but now a UK store has listed it for £280 (considering it's £213 on Amiami preshipping I think it overall works out cheaper considering it would probably be forced DHL or EMS due to the weight and the customs charge that would be on top) so I'm going to use this as a jumping on point for diaclone, what are some figures you anons would recommend?

Yeah that's the thing..

I remember after I got Battle I thought I'd go all in, then I saw the price for the Powered Suits and went fuck that, best stick with collecting Transformers MP's, and now with them in the state they're in now, I wonder if that was the right call. If I recommit I'll probably just try focusing on getting one of each of the various figures, go for the ones from the original line, and maybe some of the cool looking variants.

I got my Ronin and Carbe last week too, and I gotta say, I like Carbe a lot more. I find Ronin kind of hard to get in cool poses, and pretty limited. Carbe is a lot cooler, the digitigrade legs give you a surprising amount of height options to play with and it's in general easier and more fun to pose than Ronin is.

This is my first modular bot. Looks pretty slick, but it's kind of fiddly. I think it's due to the design itself. The accessories are pretty barebones, I wish it came with a few more hands and some sheathes for the includes daggers.

$78 isn't cheap, but I was surprised how big it turned out to be. More accessories would've been nice to offset the price. I think they just want you to buy more robots, which makes sense.

I'd share but I'm pretty sure most people here are in the US so it wouldn't be of use.
Also to be fair all the bigger ones are out of stock but it has the basics (though the only big bots I'm interested in are buffalo and convoy).

Kapow Toys has them, they used to stock them but now they've stopped (They had the exception for convoy because of Optimus) but they still have a few smaller sets in stock.
They are UK based but ship to most places in Europe.

The default is just a wash of the navy smoke with not enough accent color.

The alt color has great orange highlights on a boring grey frame.

Yeah I imagine that's the case, probably because the none Transformers diaclone figures are less well known and the fact the price is so high for such small figures doesn't help either.
Still though they were willing to put up Battle Convoy so they may also sell other rebooted diaclone TF cars if they are ever made.

The white one also has more contrast overall though, with the orange bits and eye, pink ponytail, and smoke armor/hat (the smoke one only has one highlight color, orange). Also, I think the visible orange parts through the clear is really cool.

The smoke one is cool too for a more uniform look, but if I were going for one it would probably be the white one.

Are TA pics shown usually of prototypes? It does have the "Products may vary..." blurb at the top, but it looks pretty final to me. Photoshopping it into the background obviously took quite a few pixels out, though.

I'm curious about the price, he's built like Argus, has the extra knife and gun (not shown but I assume he's still coming with it, hate, collar piece, backpack, ammo belt, and belt. If Argus was priced at $70, maybe $90? But who knows how TA will price things.
