Back when I started collecting, I was all about articulation, especially in the ankles, but now, some of my all-time favorite toys don't have any ankle articulation, but they're still lots of fun. Take pic related; I personally think it's a better toy than almost anything in Siege or Earthrise, and the articulation is pretty weak, comparatively.
Ankle articulation almost always makes a toy, but the lack of it certainly doesn't break a toy.
