>>8392278Fanstoys is a solid company and for the most part, but I do agree that they are bland and overrated. you gotta understand, though, the 3P MP game was largely saturated by figures that missed the mark for years, and companies that gave up quickly, or just bad QC. Fanstoys has managed to consistently be at least good. Yes,there's been QC issues, but they're overblown and addressed well, which is more than most other 3Ps. Compare this to XTB, who's QC issues begin with their engineering and need to release upgrade pieces (usually in another figure release) and 2.0s. Fanstoys may not have the best looking sculpts on an individual basis, or the most impressive engineering from an intuitive and cleverness standpoint, but they deliver what people who want to round out their G1 MP collection want.
So basically, thats why FansToys has grown to be what it is. Iron factory is the other example I can think of that follows their model(stick to a theme, constant releases, limited QC errors), and they seem to be beloved here.
Like, I love Maketoys and Perfect Effect the most out of any 3Ps myself, but both of them fail to commit or follow through; whether it's budget reasons or sales is beyond me, in the end they just aren't consistently delivering what I want from them and its hard to promote them or support them. Take for example, PE did a bunch of cool Beast Wars releases, then followed through with a cool, but standalone movie inspired Optimus I don't want. Maketoys did a Cybertron Starscream...then nothing. Its frustrating, and this is a franchise where fans need a stream of new releases to keep them engaged.
