The only import figure line worth collecting is kamen rider figuarts, and only the yearly cheap releases.
Other than that its either gunpla or domestic figures.
Domestic figures either suck or are scalped. The only exception is mcfarlane and jazzwares both of which are the best toys right now.
My suggestion is you forget about deals. If you want import quality figures either learn gunpla or buy an sd kit. If all you want is a fun monthly/weekly figure buy jazzwares or mcfarlane.
