Since you're going for actual cloth clothes, let me recommend some things if you feel like taking it up another level.

Sincee I've made zarakis outfit before, I know a couple things.
Fabric choice is important for scale. You want to find something with a very fine weave to simulate a regular weave at normal height. If you can't find this at a local craft store, a pillowcase might be the way to go (they have their thread counts labeled)
Secondly, look up how kimonos and hakama (the pants) are made irl. They're all really basic garments that shouldn't pose much of an issue for anyone that's dabbled in sewing. This will really bring it up a notch. For added realism, look up how to keep ink from spreading on fabric and paint the coats marks on yourself.
Oh, and lastly don't forget to use a super tight stitch, again to give the illusion of scale.
