I think Mattel went in with the idea that making the figures rubber would make them last longer, without realizing it would severely hamper their longevity in the long run. Funnily enough, I found the robo-shark on goodwill a few years back. It's interesting how the purely plastic figures pop up every once in awhile when you least expect them to. If you're really jonesing for some replacements, I highly suggest the spinmaster king sharks.
