The owners of groups feel pressure to follow warhammers demands or lose access/free stuff. Warhammer asks to promote certain people. Over time progressives begin to gain high ranks in the culture and once they have majority power they start pushing politics.
This also happened in dungeons and dragons, magic the gathering, comics, marvel, star wars, star trek etc.
Some people theorize this is a sinister democrat funded agenda, but it could also be hollywood seeding people to make brands appeal to the lowest common denominator so it can make profitable movies. Regardless once they get a hold of it they start pushing woke politics and pushing out the "problematic" fanbase.
