Acrylic:beginner friendly. Thins with water. If you know what you're doing, and don't need a specific look, you may stop here. You can get it off with isopropyl alcohol.
Laquer: good for tamiya spray cans. VERY HARD TO REMOVE. Buying dull flat clear (also known as topcoat) can make kits look like import style figures.
Enamel: i don't use often. It drys slowly but is very flat. Harmful fumes. Needs special thinner.
The enamel panel liners are the best paint supplies on the market other than dull topcoat. Just remember dark gray for whites, black for most other things.
