When a toy company has been doing rather nice figures and started a large following of devoted fanatics, and then said toy company makes a horrendous figure and any attempt to raise valid critism in hopes of getting a fix get stamped out by those fanatics and you're labeled as a hater or a troll.

If its not mcfarlane or gundam, i just can't find the item i'm looking for. I went to walmart the other day looking for lc mmpr yellow, (which said was in stock on website) and all they had was 3 beast morpher blue.

Everyone knows neca is bad, but i got lucky and had a store near me that sold funko pops and turtles in time. I was so suprised seeing it there, since every wall was covered in funko, but bought a few. Other than that i've never seen tmnt in stores.

The sad truth is toys are not profitable for brick and mortar stores, and companies are unwilling to properly stock their websites. Theres no reason hasbro can't have every new release properly stocked on pulse.

Also fuck exclusives. Target/walgreens doesn't even care about them. Why should hasbro? The only company that earned exclusives is gamestop.

I'm pretty sure the reason they don't keep a whole bunch of stock themselves to sell is so that people still buy them from Wal-Mart/Target/etc., because those big companies spend way more money on Hasbro than individual adult collectors

I think customers have a right to be critical of the products they buy. It's not being "whiny" when we have to fork over cash, on top of having to hunt just to find these figures. This isn't exactly a charity we're being provided with.

Granted, raising these complaints here doesn't do jack, so it probably is best to bring up said complaints on the toy company's social media, but I feel like people that blindly defend flawed figures turn up there, too. And toy reviewers will often downplay a figure's issues if they're getting the figure for free from the company.

We are getting close to most of that being over, I say by 2023ish only store exclusives ill be any core to order, everything else you will be able to just preorder. It's been very satisfying that the Transformers, Power Rangers and Star Wars work like my Jap imports: Wide Preorder window and then wait.

I agree with your statement, though to play devil's advocate, I'd say that the voices of others might also persuade toy makers to believe improvement is unnecessary. To an extent, they're right, though, since it's a business. And if a toy sells extremely well, then it really doesn't matter if it's "good" or "bad", just that it made them money.

Dude chill out about MotU Origins, Walmart has them until 2021 and then you can buy them from Target, Walmart, Amazon, BBTS, etc. I went out maybe 3 times looking for Origins only to find Battle Cat and the Sky Sled set then I realized that I needed to chill the fuck out and be patient and in a few months I could order everything I wanted.

Except it is. Or at least it is proportionately speaking. The head isn't the actual problem, so much that her body was made too small. By doing that, they ended up causing a whole mess of issues. She's no longer in the 7-inch scale that the line is a part of, her head is too big for her body, and she's shorter than she's supposed to be in relation to the other characters. The prototype had none of these issues and it boggles my mind why they changed it before finalizing the figure.

Also the number of stores that carry the figures have gone way down in recent years. When a town had a Walmart, Kmart, Target, Toys R Us, KB toys, and possibly one or two other competing stores a few scalpers could not clean out the town and make it next to impossible for someone to get their hands on something. But now it's down to just Walmart and Target, and a handfull of scalpers can clean out all the shipments to a town pretty quickly. Add in COVID killing shipments and manufacturing numbers, store shoppers dropping to roughly 15% of what they used to be, and everyone shifting to online shopping only, and you have what leads to scarcity for a lot of things.

Actually your far from the truth, the system of capitlisim is designed to homogenized choice to very few to no compeating companies. When you allow someone to game the system you give so many loop holes that allow places like walmart to thrive while killing all other real options.

Too many toylines to follow.
Got into collecting late so I'm missing key characters for some collections.
More and more figures needed to finish some collections are regulated to exclusives.
And army building is hard.

I don't agree that it's an abomination, but I would still say the inaccuracy is more than minor when the figure looks off at immediate glance. There's no nitpicking required. If you're fine with it, that's your prerogative, but why do you have such an issue with other people's dissatisfaction with the figure? That's the reason I don't collect lines. I collect individual figures that I really like, after researching whether they are good or not. Great articulation is a must for me, so that gets factored in.

Army building is okay if you only want 3 or 4 and are prepared to search frequently for when the figure pops up cheap or retail price.
