There may be a Castle Grayskull coming out next year when the toys are no longer Walmart exclusive, which was supposedly found in Target's computer. The price stated was $75.

Other than that, Wave 2 of origins is starting to show up in Europe and appears it may be dated for September in some places. In the US it's officially listed as coming out in early October.

Wave 3 is also upping the line, with not just 4 basic figures, but introducing deluxe figures as well. There's 4 deluxes, which include extra heads and hands and action features.

I wouldn't rule him out, but I think he's low priority at the moment depending on how long the line lasts, or they decide to make him an exclusive. I contemplated buying the Super7 version and adding him into my collection.

ToyGuru, who used to work at Mattel 5 years ago. They own the Entertainment Rights to Motu, inherited by Filmation, who owned them, and then when Filmation was sold those rights passed on to Dreamworks eventually, and then Dreamworks was purchased by Universal.

When Dreamworks was purchased by Universal, Mattel notably stopped making Classics and cancelled that line. But then Super7 as a result was able to obtain the rights and continue making Classics for a little while. According to ToyGuru, after Dreamworks was acquired there's a period until 2023 where Mattel may no longer really own MOTU, and Universal can make MOTU media and decide who can make toys based on said media. And currently Mattel has first pass on any media, meaning they're legally offered to make the toys first, otherwise a company such as Hasbro could produce them. Now according to ToyGuru, it's possible that in the 5 years since he was at Mattel, something could have changed, but it's unknown. However Mattel did suddenly abandon their DC license. It's possible that instead of spending money on that license Mattel may have spent the money on re-acquiring rights to MOTU. None of this really matters though at the moment, since Mattel will get to keep making MOTU toys for roughly the next 3 to 4 years, and then at that time assuming nothing has changed with Universal, Universal can then decide if they want a different company to make the toys.

This also means Mattel probably doesn't have a ton of say in the production of any of the Netflix shows, neither the She-Ra series, nor either of the two MOTU shows, including the Kevin Smith series-- Universal has all the say there. So, if Dreamworks/Universal for example were to make a She-Ra reboot done by Noelle Stevenson, who doesn't really know about She-Ra or Motu, or care about it and makes a series that doesn't really make for good toys, Mattel has little to no say in it. And IF Mattel refused to make toys based on that series, Universal could take the license to another toy company. This likely explains why Mattel waited awhile before making She-Ra dolls and then put out only a few and immediately cancelled the line.

A flocked version is also coming out as a Walmart exclusive version. He has painted pupils and the packaging is texturized to feel like it's flocked as well. He costs more however.

I'm hoping we get some variable sizes in this line, which, judging by the silhouettes, we will. The buck system has been in MotU for a long time but it made everything very monotonous, He-Man is the same height as Roboto, as Beast Man, as Snout Spout, etc. Hoping that a human character can be the benchmark at 7", like Man-At-Arms, with He-Man being a bit taller than him, and Skeletor maybe being the same height, and it going from there. Nuance like that would bring the line to life, I think. Super excited for Masterverse, and I'm hoping we see some pics sooner rather than later. Might have to wait until at least the delayed Toy Fair.

They already gave the Fiend the gimmick, but without the robot arm. They'll probably not do it since part of the line seems to be that once you strip away the Eternia bits, they're just plain old wrestler figures with the exception of Faker Cena and Undertaker.

The Hurt and Heal weapons are such a cool touch. But ya, Fiend even has slots in his jacket to hold his weapons, like Trapjaw's belt.

In terms of upcoming figures, you can't have regular wrestler versions of Jake (unless you replace the torso) and Stone Cold (who has snake eyes), and kinda Braun who has Beastman like marks on his face.

No they actually did. You're just not paying attention.

Last time they kept refreshing Skeletor with goofy repaints instead of just having the regular version as an evergreen item. He also was shipped in the same case as the other villains (He-man with the other heroes) and packed out more. For Origins, Skeletor comes in his own case just like the vintage line...He-man also. This makes perfect sense cause those two are the staples of the brand. The other figures come in their own case. Mattel can ship out new waves and still have Skeletor and He-Mans on the shelf without taking spots for the other characters PLUS it allows more people to get the 2 most wanted characters in the line.

Hopefully by wave 3 they don't keep refreshing those 2 for a while. It seems like they're sitting on Castle Grayskull for a special occasion. I'd imagine it's the moneyshot of any reveal they make and it's probably a long way away until they even show it. More than likely we wont see any images of it until next year.

No, they've mostly turned out to be legit. The only thing that changed was the number of figures per wave. Originally Wave 1 was supposed to be 4 figures, but then they bumped it up to 6. Wave 2 however IS 4 figures, and so is Wave 3. However for Wave 3 they also added Deluxe figures, so there's really 8 figures per wave.

Out of the leaks, only these figures haven't been shown off:

And we knew for a fact all of those except for Jutsu, Webstor, and Moss Man were coming, because Mattel said at Power-Con that the characters featured in much of the artwork for the line is deliberate, pointing out Stinkor, Fisto, and Tri-Klops.

The leaks also say a Battleram is coming, and why wouldn't it? The skysled has clips on it for the Battleram. The leaks also said a flocked Panthor was coming, and he was indeed revealed. They also said there would be two-packs with extra parts, and lo and behold, Mattel revealed the Skeletor set. Mattel also confirmed the exclusive Skeletor/Keldor two-pack that they cancelled and was supposed to be a convention exclusive.

Single packed cases of each and every figure. That's why there was a peg for each figure with multiples of each figure for that peg. That's why some people are finding all of just one character. The 2-pack we are getting was shown with one additional head, otherwise it's Skeletor's standard loadout and 1 gun for Kronis, hardly the extra accessories that they had mentioned that would come with the aforementioned supposed 2-pack.

That's the point of them being single packed. I've personally found the figures at retail on multiple occasions now, and each time it was multiple pegs, with one type of figure on that specific peg. A peg of Beast Man, a peg of Skeletor, a peg of Teela, a peg of Man-At-Arms, a peg of He-Man, a peg of Evil-Lyn. Others here in the US have found the same. Generally speaking there's usually like 5 or 6 of a specific figure on each peg from what I saw. When I got my figures I was able to pick out what I thought looked like the best of each figure on the pegs.

Zodac was on the back of the Land Shark box alongside She-Ra, so he's going to be single packed. If this was Zodak on the box, then maybe I could believe a Zodac with his chair might be on the way, but they're not releasing a single Zodac then also releasing him on his chair.

Every single one of those characters are very, very obvious picks to be in any MotU line. A not so obvious pick, Ninjor, who's a part of Origins wave 3 (out of apparently 6 leaked), happened not to be there. Same goes for the Land Shark vs the obvious Battle Ram, half of which we've already seen released.

And besides Ninjor, we have other products coming soon, the Deluxe releases, which were nowhere to be found in the leaks. In fact, the leaks had Battle Armor He-Man as a single packed figure in wave 6, when he's one of 4 revealed deluxe releases which were also nowhere to be found, BA Skeletor, Clamp Champ, and Ram Man. Seems odd that all the figures that are releasing early 2021 were all missing from the leaks, yet waves of items and 2-packs and vehicles that do not include these soon to be released figures were apparently shown there.

Are we sure this .org news is real to begin with? Mattel had other SDCC exclusives, and those were released via MattelCreations. It feels quite unlikely that they'd make a whole 2-pack, surely with exclusive packaging like last year's, then just outright cancel it, never to be seen again.

I remain entirely unconvinced, and in fact feel like the Power-Con reveals outright proved those leaks wrong. I guess you'll believe them and I won't, and that's fine. That said, if Mail Away Faker happens, and even if none of the others like the 2-pack or the chair happen, I'll agree with you that the leaks were real.

Alright, last time I respond. Just going to say, I'm not being a contrarian, I'm looking at what we know and heard officially from Power-Con, putting that up against the leak, and coming to a conclusion. You're doing the same and we're coming to different conclusions, that's fine.

Now, speculation on my part, but them saying they "accidentally" showed them doesn't really work. One or more people set up these slides, one or more people reviewed them, if they didn't want those 2 shown, they wouldn't have shown them or blurred them out. They later mentioned that none of the art depicts characters accidentally, I'd think these are all just teases. That said, both BA figures are also on the package there, while Mer-Man, confirmed single packed figure, it shown as well, so yes, Zodac and She-Ra both could very well end up either a basic or deluxe (an exclusive wouldn't be on the cross sell, it'd be real stupid to show an exclusive to Target at a product sold at Walmart, for example). But a chair wouldn't happen with either of those, it'd have to be an item like the Sky Sled, which I don't believe we've seen a cross-sell for, but I'd be hard pressed to believe if there was one, they'd only show Prince Adam.

Ram Man is such an obvious choice, but how long did it take him to get into Classics?

Comment is getting too long, but I'd be hard pressed to believe that they'd have BA He-Man, ready for early '21, at this presentation, but not the other figures for early '21, and instead, figures for 6 waves in (excluding Ninjor from wave 3) when early '21 will just be wave 3.

You can't say "mail away" is semantics, as the leak is explicit. It calls out waves 1 through 6 very specifically (rather than just names), as well as 2 very specific 2-packs and the rest. We know a Faker is coming, even if they didn't show the art.

We all know wave 2 is Orko, Scareglow, Man-E, and Trap Jaw.

I've seen lots on some FB group. Skeletor head on Undertaker/Faker Cena body is a popular one. I've also seen various Origins with Skull King's armour. And some random kitbashes with wrestler heads from the actual WWE line to make those wrestlers, He-Man with Roman's arm so he's all tatted up, etc. I've not lucked out and found any Origins yet, so I can't really make any at the moment. I could mix up the WWE MotU figures I have but they'd either be jumbled up looking or switching gear with gear that doesn't really suit them.

I'm pretty certain the leaks were and are legit. Wave 2 was almost exactly the same, only Mattel moved Trap-Jaw into wave 2 and Mer-Man into wave 3. My assumption would be that things weren't finalized since this was closed door event. Notably Wave 3(4 in the leaks, but 3 if you subtract He-Man and Skeletor) also has Stratos. ALSO in the leaks it states that there is a flocked Panthor, which Mattel initially denied and showed off to Pixel Dan a regular Panthor and then lied to him and said because of the articulation they couldn't flock him. But then at Power-Con they revealed that they were in fact doing a flocked one and had indeed lied because they wanted to show him off. >>8407476 >>8407484

Your argument is that they're wrong, but also right, trying to have things both ways in order to argue against it. Was Stratos just a lucky guess? No. Was Man-E-Faces? Was Orko? Was Scareglow? You're saying it's a very clever fabrication that sprinkles in facts, but also all made up, and also happens to be right about Stratos and flocked Panthor. At some point you gotta consider that perhaps it is legit.

Those 3 from wave 2 were teased at Power-Con 2019 in August of that year, the leak came in 2020, so how is getting those 3 accurate anything surprising?
Again, Stratos was 1 out of 4 for wave 3, so that's cool, but that also means 3 out of 4 were wrong. As has been said, Ninjor is also nowhere to be found in wave 3 or any of the 6 waves, in a total of 24 named characters.

Why are you lauding the fact that Battle Armor He-Man, the most iconic He-Man variant, was named out of those 24 figures for wave 6 as a win for the leaked list? You're saying (or the guy that didn't have the name if that wasn't you) that Stratos in wave 3 is support for the leak, yet just naming the He-Man variant at all, in a different assortment from where he'll actually be released and in the wave 6 of 6, is also a win for the leak?

For Keldor, last year's exclusive was Adam and He-Man, the hero and his alter ego. Keldor and Skeletor was a 2-pack speculated upon since the Adam and He-Man pack was revealed.

Descriptions of the 2-packs with extra accessories that didn't actually happen? Of which there were 2? And the only extra accessory in that different 2-pack is one head, when the leak was mentioning quite a bit, akin to the exclusive Adam and He-Man pack. The extra head aside, either of those could easily be single packed, 2 accessories for Keldor, just like Skeletor, and a gun for Kronis.

And? Neither were the deluxe figures except for Battle Armor He-Man. That German event ran from January 29- February 2nd-- months before the last Power-Con, and the Deluxes when shown were prototypes, not the final figures. Ninjor not being at the German event is insignificant, because he may not have been as far along in development by then, and therefore not shown vs when he was shown at Power-Con.

One quick thing about Stratos but how the hell is he a nobody character? He was in the first 8 of the original toyline and a staple character of the series.

That aside, my claim isn't that they're half right and wrong, I'm saying that whoever formulated the leak used factual information we already have, that Scareglow, Orko, and Man-E-Faces were in wave 2, and then from there just went at it with characters from early waves of the original toyline.

And I'll bring this up because it's so contradictory that I'm surprised you'd bring it up.

So a character from wave 3, to be released in early 2021, wasn't ready before the 14 (besides up to that point confirmed characters, including Trap Jaw) other characters they had ready to show, who will likely see release between early/mid to late 2021 and possibly 2022? That's quite a stretch.

Mr Crimson Commander (nifty name, if I do say so myself), do you believe that the contents of the leaks, beyond the character selection, as in the waves breakdown, matters for the validity of the leak? If the answer is no, then Stratos accurately being listed in wave 3 does not matter, and if the answer is yes, then the various other characters not lining up with the waves officially announced put the leak into question.

And also, if the order does not matter, there isn't all that much that's verifiable on the leak, but among them are the 2-packs, both of which we've yet to see. To expand on this, let me give an example,

"Hello everyone, I work at Mattel and I have some Origins leaks. We'll soon be seeing Jitsu, Fisto, Clawful, Tri-Klops, Faker, Buzz-Off, and Mekaneck, Kobra Khan, Webstor, and Whiplash. I can't give exact dates or in which waves they'll appear, but do be assured that they're on the way."

The named characters above were from the first 3 waves of the original toyline, and they're all very likely to be coming at some point, assuming the line has a long life ahead. If specifics don't matter, then neither do my "leaks" above, as it isn't like this is a new line where we don't know the characters and naming the notable ones isn't something we can do.

But who knows, right? It's possible that whoever leaked the info did in fact see or was told everything that was listed, and plans are just getting shuffled around.

It's not, because they re-use parts. We don't know what they showed off. Digital mock-ups or physical prototypes? For example when they showed the Mega Construx prototypes, they were kitbashes and repaints. And when they first showed off Scareglow and Man-E-Faces and Orko, it was a digital mock-up.

Yes if it matches up, because that's called corroborating evidence. If it doesn't match then it doesn't really mean anything against it, because:
A. We weren't there to hear and see what Mattel actually said in that regard
B. It was at a time months and months before even wave 1 showed up at retail and therefore the wave breakdown would be subject to change.

In this instance Stratos did match up, as did Orko, Man-E-Faces, and Scareglow, although you dismissed the wave 2 figures, which is fine, but you can't dismiss Stratos, and then you have Keldor and Flocked Panthor, and the fact that there's a two-pack.

One of the packs listed is a Mer-Man and Beast Man set, which are supposed to have new heads. In the Lords of Power set, there's a new Beast Man and Mer-Man head each. Very coincidental? We'll obviously get those heads at retail, how would you suppose that would be? And further the Keldor two-pack shows that two packs were happening! The leak said there was two-packs with extras, and lo and behold there was a two-pack with extras. I didn't expect it'd be the cancelled SDCC Keldor, but I'm all in favor of that(an example of figures can get moved around with their release).

Anon, you're deliberately straw-manning, because you know it's point in favor of the leak. The leak said Stratos was wave 3, and therefore IF he showed up in wave 3, then that could be considered corroborating evidence. If he's not in wave 3 but was still getting released in a future wave, then it doesn't work for or against the leak; it's not something you can count against it.

Well, the problem is that without ankles, it can't pose at all, at least not flat footed. If you move the legs in any direction at all suddenly the feet don't line up, so the pose of the vintage toy could certainly not be recreated. I myself wouldn't call it worse than the vintage, especially because kids for example could still play with it and not care too much about the feet not being flat while it's in the air or pouncing, but it is REALLY not ideal.

You keep bringing up the SDCC Keldor 2-pack, so please link me something where Mattel themselves, any rep, states that it was real at some point and was cancelled. You can't use the thing you're trying to prove is real with the thing you're trying to prove is real. If Mattel said nothing about it, anything regarding this supposed 2-pack is merely speculation and bringing it up is completely moot. And just to put you using the 2-packs as evidence to rest, the leak specifically called out 2 heads, one vintage one modern each, 4 hands each, and more weapons, and then it specifically called out the 2 previously talked about. Until we see either of those 2, the idea of a 2-pack is very staple in action figures, being used in WWE, ML, DC Multiverse, and many more, and I and many others have speculated that we'd be seeing them eventually. It's a good assumption, which is my issue with the leak, it feels like assumptions.

I also don't think you've addressed Ninjor besides saying he maybe wasn't ready, why would a wave 3 figure not be ready before a wave 6 figure? Even if it was just a cross sell image? Where was Land Shark? The other anon brought up that anything announced at Power Con that was remotely unusual was missing, I wonder why. Because the leak is fake.

It's a real cool looking set but the price is quite steep, in that it's basically the price of two figures and a ring (15+15+20). The Cena set actually released at $30 and went even lower due to it specifically being a Holiday item. It was also unfortunately never released internationally, so hopefully this one is.

That'd be real funny. He'd probably work best in a special set like a 2-pack, since we're limited to 4 figures per wave. Also seems like an easy repaint, though I feel like they should mix the colours up a bit to better represent Firefly Funhouse Bray.

I'm not touching that because Classics was a great line for its time (and its scope is incredible), but with WWE in the same style, and all the upcoming things, Origins is going to be a great line. Masterverse will also hopefully continue the momentum.

Some dude is working on making a new custom Power Sword based on the Filmation version as a replacement for the half Power Swords that the Origins figures come with, and gives the sword a thinner handle than the SDCC version.

Never been into MOTU before, but I got a couple WWE ones since I'm a lapsed wrestling fan. Really dig the colors and way they're fairly similar.

Saw the Origins wave 1 in store too, but none of those designs really appeal to me. Wave 2 looks great though. Fun series to collect?

Skipping out on the Fiend is missing out. He's a great figure with unique weapons that no one else in either line will get. That said, while Mr. T is great, something about Jake really works, and he's definitely a standout of this series so far.

Articulation is fine. they're more poseable than the Motu classics. gimme a few. i've only got Faker, He-man and Skeletor so far. I missed Scare-glow, and need to get mer-man. got Man at Arms on order though. 1/6th is my preferred scale, and these are great.

When you see Jake on the shelf he'll look alright. When you get him out of the package and mess with his gimmick, the snake face, his snake, and his snake printed chest is when he'll really shine. He really does look good.

I really like the Classified series, but the stocking and pipeline has been utterly retarded. Where as I've seen regular stock of MOTU(Origins and WWE) of every figure sans Undertaker.

The only downside to WWE MOTU I've found so far is some of the more dull figures(Sting, Roman Reigns and Seth mostly)

Wave 2 of Origins and Wave 4 of WWE MOTU are definitely gonna cinch the top spot for me though. I want almost every figure in those waves.
