>>8447527The new trilogy did a shit job of getting you interested in any of the things on screen, and the toys aren't as good as they used to be unless you pay way more than you should:
-I mean, for TFA they actually had some interesting aliens mixed in with the toys, but most had terrible articulation, only major ships were the X-Wing, Tie Fighter, and Millennium Falcon so there just wasn't anything new there either. Most aliens are kinda samey, the guy in red armor looked cool but did nothing. Phasma was propped up as important but does nothing.
-Next film has two new fighters, and tons of ground vehicles... that only show up at the end and most did nothing. Main cast barely have a wardrobe change, and no interesting aliens aside from that one rebel fighter pilot. A long drawn out chase isn't all that fun.
-Third film, Hasbro just gives up. Despite some interesting things here and there, the main bad guys are just using regular Star Destroyers, ground vehicles show up and do nothing, and the few new fighters are just "new" versions of old ones.
In contrast, all the other movies kept making new shit all the time, and it got to do something to get kids interested in buying them. Why would a kid want Rey's speeder that she barely used and does nothing of note? Just add a small chase scene or something.
