I know that. My issue is the same I have with a lot of companies where it's this "Solicit, preorder, delay, delay, solicit, preorder, delay, solicit, preorder, actual delivery of item from two preorders ago" cycle. It's a lot of companies asking us to lock ourselves in almost years in advance on nothing but faith, and that's really taxing to said faith.

I think most are tired of the excuses. The molds were revealed last Summer which means they’ve been working on Arethyr before that.

Whatever they did, they dropped the ball and was made worse because of COVID. Other properties, including new lines like Xesray, have released during this time, why are we letting 4H slide?

Then the constant preorders and cash grabs are just adding insult to injury. At some point, the delays are enough.

Constant pre-orders? They've had three. One was the All-Star wave, which will ship in Oct and the other two were for the same damn figure. A god damn global pandemic took out half their Molding Factory, of course their new molded figures will take longer to make. Other companies weren't hit as bad because most likely their factories weren't located in the epicenter of the outbreak. Hell, even their production factory is still working and we've already seen figures from the All-Star wave released in limited quantities with the rest coming next month. There was no ball dropped, they explained what happened pretty clearly.

It is a bummer because this is a much better store than MAFC. They are less arrogant, don't create artificial scarcity, can combine orders, and generally just less insane than the guy who ran MAFC. I don't follow facebook drama, but did the shop owner get burned out, or is it something else unrelated?

it used to, then they made it so you can only buy 1-2 of a specific figure in the first hour, which helped a lot. But it sounds like this sale might have really low numbers per figure, so I expect stuff to sell out very fast nonetheless.

Hopefully this whole ordeal will encourage more re-runs of these guys. The turn around time for making already existing figures is a lot shorter then new stuff, so re-releases are easy money. With the new store, it should make it easier for them to run sales.

Also, on the bright side, the shop seems have been able to handle the strain of the rush.

They've done three all-star waves already, so again I don't think they care about the price of a figure on the aftermarket. Hell, they wanted to sell off their remaining Valgards to KS backers who missed him back in the day until they were met with backlash from fans. Since then, they haven't really done any actually "exclusive" figures, but only exclusive premieres that get a mass release later.

Even their latest exclusive horse guy got a non-exclsusive version almost right after the first one.

I'd have to watch that interview again to see what they actually said. It was in relation to Otho selling for a very high price, but their response to it left me with the impression that they were completely fine with having figures (maybe referring to earlier ones out of respect to the kickstarter backers?) being no longer available once theyve moved on.

I also want to touch on how people have noticed the All Star figures have slight differences to the originals, I think in the paint? But I dont know if thats intentional and more just something I find to be a bit weird that they're fine with.
To be fair I havent seen any resellers try to take advantage of it by trying to argue their original is rarer than the All Star version of the same figure either

It sucks you couldn't get what you were after, but at least you got a nice little Knight Squad out of it. The one deluxe builder set can mix and match with the two legion builders to make them all a bit more unique. The Deluxe also comes with a ton of extra, much nicer weapons then the basic LBs so they can all be really well armed.

I didn't even participate in the instock sale, I don't care for the cringe message about the exodus or whatever but the idea seem to be a warehouse clearout. I checked the site once and it seemed that they only have 2.0 stuff, which we had plenty of time getting our hands on.

I've been leaning heavily into getting the evil characters since I've started collecting these so I thought it was about time to get some knights to rival them, especially since there was nothing else I was interested in.

Honestly, outside of a few unique characters, not much else interests me other than the orcs, goblins, green ogres and the templars. I would have preferred to get a templar legion builder but as you said the deluxe builder's such a good deal and only made better by using more bodies from the other LB's.
Surprised they haven't come up with a deluxe templar legion builder yet, seems like an obvious choice.

Yea, the monsters in this line are a lot of fun, especially the goblins. When this line first launched I was all about the Knights, but over time I ended up getting more of the baddies then anything else.

As for the Templar, he's a weird, quasi Deluxe as he's packed with a lot of stuff. A full compliment of weapons, both collar pieces, the awesome banner, but was still priced at a Legion Builder price point. Back when he first came out I kind of skipped him, but now I'm wishing I managed to grab a pair to flank my Godfrey and Delphina.

I guess more weapons and armor choices overall just with more templar ornaments on the armor. They could always use historical references and have some more Teutonic Knight inspired armor, which could look especially good along with the upcoming horses.

In fact since this the only popular/semi-popular medieval fantasy figure line I wouldn't mind if they took more inspiration from historical armours that otherwise wouldn't get made. I've always liked the beaky helmet and the other one I circled, would be cool to see those.

As for more templar stuff, a proper cross standard would be nice, not as a banner but a solid painted cross. I don't know how good it would look at this scale, but maybe some chain pendants or necklaces that have more templar insignia or those hanging incense things could be help them stand out more too.

I was just thinking about it from the position of if they were to make one now, considering we have horses on the way that maybe it'd be interesting for them to do a combined Legion/Mount Builder. They could potentially make use of the ogre-scale box and just jampack it with horse/LB accessories

Since the horses arent out yet I dont know how customizeable they'll be but I would hope they would continue the theme of the figures and give them many options to make them unique, like different saddles and maybe horse armour?
They could include more long range weapons that can be used on horseback like lances and more polearms. In general jousting stuff would be cool.

Well we're getting new bodies in the Arethyr wave, but I don't really see any of em getting used for a Templar. They did mention there would be "Legion Builder" class horses eventually, with less gear and paint for a lower price point. But I doubt they'll come packed with figures. The horses were designed to be modular though, so most will reuse a lot of the same parts.

And while they haven't shown off any new weapons, I would love to see new polearm variety. As is, the two handed stuff we have now is very hit and miss. We still need a basic, simple, default two handed axe in the line, because the original one was just awful and too many figures now come with that damn hammer.

The elves are all over the place. There's human skinned elves with green eye, no eyeballs; human skinned elves with regular eyeball; human skinned elves with black eye, no eyeballs, green skin elves no eyeballs, dark skinned elves and beyond.

But what kills it is that the elves had no unique gear or mold. Even the elven weapons are shared with the vampires. Compare them to the goblins, who each has similarities but also looks like they belong in one team.

Finally lets be honest, the unhelmeted elves heads are all too big so they all look kinda goofy. Especially the male ones like elf ranger

I always felt the heroic elves, outside of Thallyn, were pretty cohesive. The main elf figures have mixtures of greens and browns while their Legion Builders and leader have gold and green. I even saw it as Aydon being the leader of the Rangers as he has similar leather armor and the large bow while Myria was in charge of the LB, as they both wear more metallic armor and can even be of the same sub-race as her. The look gets even more cohesive when you add in figures like Thistlethorn, Faunus and the Silverhorn Sentries, who share the same earth tone colors. The weapon pack specifically was originally designed to be specifically made for the elves. Hence why there's two bows and very elegant, flowery swords. It was only made as a Vampire set when the 4H literally blew past all their Stretch Goals and people demanded Vamps get their own weapon set (though I feel the Knight set would've worked better for the vamps). But most of the elves have unique head sculpts and great gear layouts (except Myria, she got shafted).

Personally, I picked up a third Elf LB from the last sale (probably the best value in the entire line) and I'm currently very tempted to get an Aydon just because. I wasn't even a particular fan of him and his Not-Hugo Weaving headsculpt but seeing him just sitting there on the shop makes me almost want to pity buy him lol.

If anything this may cause them to both prosper. Truth be told I've always preferred Warhammer over DnD, but I have yet to get any good Skaven like ratman or good monsters/beast.

Here is hope we get beholders, werewolves, dragons, mindflayers, and such. I've missed every chance to get a few dwarf slayers.

As far as know, it came from more modern american drawing to look less like a werewolf one and be it's own thing. I personally remember it being a more recent thing. I've found people.who started drawing it this way often said it was to be more "authentic", but I think that means they wanted it to take a more western/native feel.

Wish they'd remake the stupid huge 2 hander axe, and keep the modularitly, but don't make it so bulky and sci-fi looking, and smooth the handle down so figures can actually hold it without stretching the hand out.

I always felt that axe would be MUCH more interesting if it was a fully modular weapon. As in, not just one switchable blade, but both blades could be removed and replaced with the spiked toppers or something. Or remove the blades and fit the Halberd or Mace heads. Even better is if the shaft itself could split in half to make em into two one handed weapons like the Ogre Axe does. It had a lot more potential that would've made it's awkward appearance understandable. As is I have a pile of the damn things and only use like two.

I am glad they stuck with a universal sized Staff topper peg though, it opens up a lot more mix and match options and should allow them to make new polearms with minimal effort. Some personal favorite mixes of mine are the Halberd head on the Trident staff, the Wooden mage staff on the club handle, and pic related with the bladed mace on the Dwarf hammer shaft.

No I don't think they'll do that either. I guess it would be more accurate to call my idea a Rider Builder or something. Just one figure with accessories tailored to it riding a horse(lance, longer weapons, banner etc) and some accessories for the horse itself.
While having a horse/LB bundle like Arethyr is a nice idea it seems like its reserved for special characters/mount combos.

I agree, while obviously the level of fantasy these figures have are what made them popular its also a bit generic. I wish they'd lean more into some of the more unique historical stuff like the billhook or man-catcher.

Same, I dislike the bulky look some of the weapons have overall. Even with the hammers I think something around the size of a lucerne hammer would look much better, make it slightly larger if you want to give off that the character stronger than most.

Yea the torso is on a ball joint so it can pop right off. First time doing so might be a bit tight though, if it (or any joint) seem too tight, run him under hot water for a while and it should loosen up enough to move/pull apart with no damage to the figure.

The belts can either go across the chest over the shoulder (their primary design) or around the waist after popping him apart.

The legs look like Dwarf legs, but with full length arms (and new bracers). It's something they did with Gonxx to give him a very unique look.

The Gorget is new, but was originally made for a Demon in the Aerthyr wave who's name escapes me. But he the classic red demon with a big head and the gorget works really well on him.

Like let's assume these guys are the flying armies of the vampires, so they fly over the heads of the enemies, maybe stabbing down with spears and lances and with their legs dangling down. So the legs are the likeliest to be injured by enemies on the ground and that is why they are heavily armoured. The feet should be too, but maybe their claws make such formidable weapons, that putting on shoes would make them less effective warriors. (And maybe they can grab people with their feet?) The upper body is mostly out of reach for enemies, so they choose not to wear armour there, because it would be unnecessary weight, which is pretty bad if you want to fly.
And the gorget just looks cool.

.....you really can't start trying to fit in "common sense" in a fantasy line like this. The real reason he has armored legs is because they don't have a Dwarf sized bare leg mold yet, so they could either make him a normal height figure, or give him armored legs. Since they already made the Imp using the goblin mold, going with the more Dwarf body, with the new hands and feet, make this guy much more unique.

That said, I feel his legs and armor in general could use more paint and colors. The bare skin looks fantastic, but the armor just looks dull.

Hey all - just wanted to address the comments on the $6 cost for LegionsCon since I am one of the two people running this event.

First off, as some have pointed out, this is NOT a studio event. It is fan run. The 4H have a panel, but the entire rest of the event is focused on the Mythic Legions community of customizers, artists, 3D sculptors and printers, diorama makers and more. It is not a marketing event. The panels are focused on discussions of the line and the creativity that has sprung up around it.

As for the cost - bottom line, this is not free to run. Just because it is "virtual" doesn't mean there are no costs attached. The platform being used is called Crowdcast. That alone is $200/month for the feature set we need for this event, and we needed multiple months to plan, test, and run this event. We could've gone the free route and done something on like Facebook or YouTube, but we wanted to put on a better overall show for guests and make it so fans who do not use those social channels were not cut out, so we opted to spend some money to do the show we felt was best. The impact of that is we had to charge a small fee to help cover some of those costs.

Trust me, I get the comments. Hasbro puts on Hascon for free, so why can't we do this for free too? Well, this is being run by two individuals who are fans of the line, not a giant corporation. And with Hascon, the whole point was to show you stuff you could then go and buy. That is not what we are doing. My partner, Joe Veteri, and I have no sale attached to this event. The only way we recoup our expenses is by charging a small entry fee for fans who want to attend.

The event itself is nearly 8 hours of programming, and all sessions will be recorded so anyone who can't sit through 8 hours of Mythic Legions can check out panel discussion and such at a later date based on their schedule.

Thanks to anyone who chooses to register and support the event. Once again, this not some cheap money grab by the 4H. That is silly. They have done their Gcon event every year as a free one. Our event is different, and we hope the quality of the broadcast, the panel discussions, and yes the reveals that will happen will make it worth it. When the first wave came out and I got in on the first preorder I was so excited. When people talked about paint peeling I thought "no way they'd release a product like that, those people were just careless." Oh how wrong I was. You clearly dont understand that same mold, different paint, different SKU = more cost. It is cheaper to produce 500 of SKU A than 250 of SKU A and 250 of SKU B

There have been 4 waves of reissue. Most toys don't get reiisued. If you want Figma from 2015 you're likely out of luck and have to go to manda. Same with shit like Marvel Legends.

Its just going to be like any discussion of the line you can have on a forum, just livestreamed and 4H pop in for 20mins to make some announcements.

While we're all complaining, I'd like to add that I love these figures, but I just can't justify the BBTS markup on the basic figures and legion builders, and honestly think the people who pay that much are crazy.

Super7's Turtle and Thundercat figures are $5 less than a standard ML on BBTS, and you get a hell of a lot more accessories and a unique sculpt to boot.

I'm sticking to stock sales and preorders. (The deluxe 2.0 knight builder is a good deal, however)

I made the mistake of passing on Keltus during his initial run, but when pics of how awesome he was started popping up, I kicked myself real hard. Hell, the entire Coliseum wave was fantastic and I still regret not going all in on it. Over time I've managed to grab every other figure from that wave save for the Cyclops and the Black Knights who I wish I had multiples of.

Also of note, the Coliseum is the last new figure wave they released with normal scale Legion Builders with All-Stars 2 being the absolute last wave with actual Legion Builders entirely. (outside the one Ogre LB).

My Exodus order came in yesterday!

Was busy most of the day, but was able to take everyone out and give them the hot water treatment before bed.

2.0 Barbarian Builder's skin paint is a bit dirty looking with some splotches and marks on a few places, and Thalyn's helmet head is misassembled, but other than that everything is in great condition.

That's a great haul, a nice mix pf the best of 2.0 imo. The Goblins are all great, skeletons are always awesome, the Elf and Knight builders are probably the best values in the entire line and thallyn and Jjuno are probably two of the best females they made to date.

I was going for Hagnon last month, but he sold out, so I went with Jjuno as a backup, and am happy with her.

I'm seriously considering doing some partswaps, but can't decide if I want skelly + knight or Jjuno or Barbarian + Knight.

I was considering mixing the skelly and barbarian to give Jjuno full heavy black armor, but the two ladies have slightly different skin tones enough that it bugs me to have he head on the black plate bra.

Well I spend over 2 hours trying to partswap, and because those damn barbell diaphragm parts are so hard to pull out, and even harder to push back in, the only thing I ended up with are sore fingers, a blister on my thumb, and Jjuno & Snagg trading their left hands.

Guess I'll just leave everyone as is, until I can get a bunch of legion builders.

Oh, I don't run them under hot water. I boil water in a tea pot and dunk them in a mug for a few seconds at a time and get the joints nice and loose.

The problem is that unlike all the other joint pegs, the diaphragm barbell is tiny piece that goes into 2 ball joints. Trying to apply pressure to get it to go in without it shifting around is tricky.

Plus how do you pull off armored parts that are covered in hard spiky edges without a little discomfort?

Not sure sure about neca or the star wars stuff but the Joe's are actually pretty good quality, they seem to be putting a lot of budget in the line which makes it more annoying they're so hard to get.
Like the Cobra Trooper is super fun and this coming from someone who buys mainly imports.

Mandi is probably my favorite of all the skeletons, especially so since his articulated jaw came as a surprise to people as everyone expected it to be sculpted in place.

Also, apparently the 4H are having their OFFICIAL webcon on the friday before the unofficial fan one people have to pay for. They say they're gonna reveal the next wave so there's even LESS reason to watch the paid one.
