But that's mostly to get rid of any lubes left over from the manufacturing process, because dust will stick on it more and makes them harder to dust.
Honestly, i don't think there's enough surface area on the toy that any butt crack and ball scratching will leave behind anything nasty.
With flat surface stuff? Books, dvd/bd/cds, and even shit like food packages from stores? I wipe almost everything down with a wet napkin saturated with alcohol and the paper napkin usually stays white afterward.
For used books/dvds/cds? the napkin is fucking brown after just simple wiping. hopefully from left over dust....
I've tried to wipe down used toys with the same method, the napkin remains clean most of the time. Only time it's not is when the toy has noticable dust. surprisingly the alcohol does nothing to the paint jobs, but it's not worth chancing this. So i mainly clean a used toy with just my normal dusting brush. For heavily dusty shit, it gets a soapy bath.
