for starters it's good that he moved away from his atrocious mcstatue designs, where the figure is preposed and will only stand and/or look good in that special pose. Articulation is pretty decent.

What he could improve upon is not having all the accessories glued together or glued onto the figure itself.
Some of the faces also look a bit weird imho, but not NECA tier bad.

All in all I expected him to do a lot worse after the Doom Slayer fuck up.

I wasnt a fan of the movie redesign of Stel. It just didnt fit the character from the comics. That being said, I didnt dislike the design itself. So I bought this bad boy anyways. I pretend he's some yet to be named other lantern robot. My only real qualm with him are his hands. Otherwise he makes for a fun space bot.

I found myself remembering the Sgt. Rock toyline earlier. It'd be neat if Spinmasters decided to include Rock and the Creature Commandos in the DC multiverse line at some point down the road. They'd make for some fun figures, that and I'd love a GI Robot. Hell, if they wanted they could re-use the uniformed suits for the challengers even.

The Total Justice Holograms were neat. They even had a tie in comic explaining their origins. They were some kind of evil "hard light constructs" from a mirror universe or something. Tbh I just find the colors eye catching, they're the exact kind of wonky wierdness you want from repaints.

I'm kind of surprised they're using the old body for Red Son. Todd also just said "a lot more Superman coming", so that's something. I assume that means Death Metal, and from there other iconic looks. And giving Damian Slade's sword rather than his usual katana is another weird choice.

Bad news there, the packaged shot didn't show any extra hands. I would hope there's at least a flight stand, given the flight hands. Superman without fists is actually criminal, but I guess once there are more released we'll at least be able to switch hands however. Alt hands and heads sometimes would be an ideal addition to this line.

It could be. Once they found that the mold was unfortunately too short but no time to fix it for Infected Supes, they probably grabbed the already properly sized mold they had sitting around (what does McFarlane even do with all the molds they get produced?). It's a good thing of all the undersized Supermen it's this infected one that is that way. It also kind of works with a hunch, so it isn't too bad for him.

I happen to have a DC Multiverse box in front of me, and trying to match it up with the box in the video I think he's around the 15cm/6" mark. I'd like to say a bit less like 14.5cm, but I'll err on the side of caution to temper expectations. The only Batman I have from the line so far is White Knight, but at 15cm he'd be around the height of Batman's shoulders.

Here he is next to Batman from issue 32 of Deathstroke (in 33 he's wearing the costume the figure has and holding that sword). Accounting for Batman wearing boots, Robin not wearing boots, I can't say for sure yet, but around reaching around the lower shoulder (assuming I was fairly accurate in my assumption) he should scale pretty well. Plus the White Knight Batman is a bit shorter than the other ones.

According to the DC wiki he's 5'2 (though I guess in the actual comics it's quite variable, sometimes it seems like he's drawn 4'), which, to my surprise, is actually around shoulder height to someone 6'2. I think it might actually be spot on. We'll have to wait for actual height comparisons, but if it tracks, then maybe that height chart that they said they now have for scaling (I assume they'd be using whatever official heights DC has listed) is paying off.

Are... are you 1/12 people? You guys love saying a figure is ruined when it's intended to be for 7" figures (a true 1/10 is a bit bigger, just as a true 1/12 is a bit smaller than what most seem to think it is) so it doesn't fit in your little 1/12 worlds. Marvel Select fans have heard the same things for ages, I guess it's time to hear it here too.

6" is around the right height for 7" figures.

Repeated use should do the trick, but if that isn't quick enough, you can try putting a tiny (like, tip of a toothpick) amount of dish liquid into the joint and working it. It might not seem like anything is happening at first but too much and you could loosen it too much. There's always shock oil, if you have that you can try.

Also, hot water.

You can also try getting a tiny bit of graphite powder into the joint. It's my go-to toy lubricant because it literally can't hurt anything, like chemically. The worst it can do it make a smudge, but since it's just graphite it wipes up instantly.

I used dish soap on a really squeaky D-Arts Megaman years ago and it's still doing great. Maybe it depends on the kind of plastic? But I've used it a few other times and have had no issues with any of these fixes.

I never said such things. I merely stated that dish soap has been known to dry out plastics. I never said anything about skin. I've seen reports of people who used dish soap for lube having joints break. I'm not saying EVERY dish soap can cause this, but because there are so many brands, all using some slightly different mixture of chemicals, it's just better to use something like shock oil.

Once we get Death Metal Superman it'll definitely be real unique. McFarlane generally does 7" figures, so it's no surprise that these are in that scale, and since those early waves, they're now making a conscious effort to scale the line with each other, as you're saying it should be. WB and DC also told them they can't be 6", so that's another factor. Whether or not McFarlane would even do so if it was an option is another question (I think he'd stick to 7").

The new MotU line coming out next year is going to be 7", Diamond Select is 7", Mezco is close to 7", Essentials is/was 7", Neca is 7". It seems like a lot of the "high end collector" brands are trying to move to 7" figures now to match the market. That and nobody wants to scale with their competitors so the proportions are all off even when they are the same height.

Ya, this topic has been discussed, and besides Hasbro and Jazwares, there isn't really any 6" figures at retail. It's just that Hasbro makes so many properties in that scale that it makes it seem like there are so many ~1/12 lines. Once you bring imports into it gets a bit different, but those often skew a bit smaller. And even they have their own oddball sizes here and there (like those strange 8" figures, the upcoming Imagination Works 9" Goku). Amusingly, the Storm Collectibles 1/12 are closer to 1/10, SIC has been a ~1/10 line, etc.

DCC was 7" for almost everything.
Marvel Legends can be 1:12 when they actually produce a new mold, which means there are a lot of 6" figures instead of 6.50".

how old are you and when did you start collecting?

Most toys today don't look any better than stuff from 2005-2008. Articulation, sculpts, and paint really haven't improved since then and may even have gotten worse.

I still prefer Mezco's over Mafex and DCC's DKR figures.

Same way they did Red Death and Flash (I've seen listings for a single packed Red Death), some different parts, maybe some terrain part or something. Also depends on the Superman and which design they choose to make, and whether they reuse the wave 1 mold or make a new one or use the infected superman mold.

Miller knows his Batman.

The art is actually really really really really rough as fuck, but that's part of the charm, because it fits the story.

You should give the comic a chance again. I read it when i was younger, when i liked my art to be nice and tight, so i couldnt look past Miller's art. I re-read it over a decade later and i thought it was fantastic.
You should also read his All Star Batman, which was drawn by Jim Lee. They compliment each other extremely well.

Really, a lot of Miller's work isn't that great. DKR is touted as great but I think it can be kind of hit or miss in places. His only truly good Batman work was Year One, and I think that worked more because it's actually a Jim Gordon story.

also, /co/ has differing opinoins because the make up of /co/ is constantly changing. Current /co/ barely even talks about comics, at least in how it used to be. I can't blame them though, because of how much shit comics are going through for the past years in trying to be culturally relevant, especially with how extreme people have become.
Even my favorite writers have become batshit insane, like fucking Dan Slott.

Back when it was still releasing the comic was regularly touted on /co/ and pretty much every big forum at the time as a major example of how Miller was losing his touch and any grasp on subtlety. Things like "are you dense, are you retarded" got memed to fuck and back because they were fucking stupid. Every time a new issue was released folks would be gathering around to laugh at what a fucking mess it was, not praising it. I think you're definitely skewed in how you remember the /co/ threads, especially when you're comparing it to Odyseey, where i don't remember anyone liking it. All Star had more than a few people saying that they liked it and discussion actually got really deep, vs Odyssey getting almost nothing but shallow panning, likely because most people didnt give it a chance past a few pages.

When you go that deep into a series like All Star, it shows there's an enjoyment for the series, even if it's almost a parody (which a lot of people agreed the series was mostly tongue in cheek writing).
Hell, the fact that /co/ kept on asking on where the rest of the book for was for almost a decade shows that there definitely was an audience who liked it.

It has shit dialogue, a disjointed plot that goes nowhere for issues on end, and an edgy tone that outright clashes with shit like Year One, a story that is supposed to immediately proceed ASB&R. Yes. I didn't go to /co/ prior to 2007. But the book was only what 5-6 issues in at that point and still had issues (1 or 2 more?) coming out and there was plenty of discussion about the book then, none of it positive. If there was positive discussion prior to that, I wasn't there for it, but I doubt that positively would've lasted beyond the first 2 issues.

All i did was go to the archive, search "all star batman" , click on page 5, click on any post that seems to be talking about All Star Batman and Robin, click on page 10, click on any post that seems to be talking about All Star Batman and Robin, click page 15, repeat, click page 17, repeat, click page 19, repeat, click page 21, etc etc etc.
Then i looked at thread to see what it was about and pasted the links into the text box.
Since almost every thread had positive talk, i didnt even have to cherry pick.

Took all of maybe 2 minutes to do, which is probably how long it'll take you to read this post.

Since i skipped so many pages and threads, to just do a quick 5 year history lesson to some liar who thinks /co/ is unanimous in their opinion about All Star Batman, there's hundreds more threads discussing the merits of the series. Nevermind whatever older posts exist in that archive.

The bug butts are unlikely, but Lana is back in the comics recently, though as a civilian. Not too long ago she did have some powers, akin to the red lightning Superman suit. Who knows, maybe they could be a thing if she gets that again.

The inclusion of translucent plastics in alot of the later kenner/hasbro batmen always made them stand out. That exact mold was later released in the batman beyond line with a terry mcguiness head. Part of me wonders if some of these designs were born out of necessity or if the designers were losing their minds. I could see it going either way considering the ridiculous successes of yugioh and pokemon from around the same time.
