I wonder, though: suppose you commission a professionally sculpted and painted figure of your own made-up waifu/husbando, and then used the key+cupboard to bring them to life. Would they take on the personality and memories you envisioned for their source material (comics, stories, etc), or would they just be blank flesh-automatons of the character since there is no ‘official’ canon for them to be based on (personal fap-fiction versus published/serialized material). Or would they just be complete strangers to you with nothing in common with your headcanon other than their physical appearance?
Better question: what if you get a professionally-made figure created of yourself in the exact shape, age, sex, outfit as your irl self and then use the cupboard? Would you be flung into an endless feed-loop? Would you be only the toy in the cupboard while your irl self disappeared? Or would you just disappear all together
